Not sure what he's based it on, but someone on our board who lives in Sydney said earlier today that Logue is a lock to Sydney at 9. Still makes sense to me and is probably why they traded up to that pick.

Might mean Freo are set on English and GC on Brodie or Simpkin then.

Would love either of Brodie or Simpkin to get through to North.

surely Freo and to a lesser extent GC do not pass on him

I don't think Gold Coast are that into him? And I think English and SPS would be higher on Freo's preference list.

Surely if Brodie is there it's a no brainer. You take the inside mid in brodie. After that it is tricky, do you take SPP, or do you possibly take a Venables? WC are surely hoping that Brodie is there.

Brodie trained at North in December and impressed everyone as a 17 year old whilst there.

I can't see him getting past us if he's available.

Surely you need speed though- Harvey and Wells gone.

I'm not quite following. Are we suggesting that Sydney traded for pick 9, so that they could get Logue, based on knowlege at the time of trade week that Freo were set on English and GC on Brodie or Simpkin?

Isn't it more likely that they thought they would get a better quality player ... ie one of :
Brody, Ainsworth, English, Petrovski-Seton, Taranto, Scrimshaw, yes and Logue; who would very likely be gone by 14?

IMO if all the clubs knew what the other clubs would be picking there would be a lot more substance to this thread. That's not to say they may not choose him if he's available, but surely they can't count on it.

No, I mean if they are set on taking Logue right now, it may be because they are confident English (or Brodie, or Hayward) will go to Freo.

They might have traded up just because they felt someone in the top tier would be there, or they might have decided they wanted Logue/Simpkin and they knew they would get one of them at nine.

We need good footballers.

We aren't going to win the flag next year, Paul Ahern will be ready to go in 2018. If Brodie or Scrimshaw are available I imagine we go with them, the indications seem to be that Florent may go later in the teens.

Fair enough. Bit surprising but I understand the reasoning.

I'd be hella annoyed if I were a WCE fan and they passed on Powell-Pepper. They are a match made in heaven

Depends who for. If it's Brodie I'd be popping the champagne

Will be very pissed of as a WCE fan.
SPP is a massive wce fan has been training with the club all year, and has been
working with our development coaches.
He desperately wants to play with us.
So will be upset if he doesn't go to us.
He's a real loyal kid as well so if goes interstate will probably stay there.
He's a future captain in the making.

Since when are they allowed to train at an AFL club prior to being drafted?
