Have you heard from a seperate source that we are after jom?
Same person that told me about Buddy mid 2013 & it was NO WAY MATE! We just got Tippett & how do we fit him in our cap with Goodes etc.
Blow me down, we get Buddy.
This feels the same but I was told maybe in September I think just before end of year. No mention of Tippett but ladt year I posted on here that we were happy to trade Tippo.

I still fail to see him coming to us.

he may have wanted to go to Melbourne clubs, but may have told his manager if you cant do hawks then the swans..
remember he was linkd to the swans a few months back...Hutchy mentioned on FC...he also mentioned buddy in 2013 that the swans could get him...(good mtes with pickers remember)
with this years draft not really overley flashy but even, next year suppose to be better....

I have a bet going with a club executive re OMeara. If I lose I have to cough up Justin Beiber tix

Sam Atwell @AtwellSam
@TonySheahan Not in a million years. Remember the Buddy deal was done 12 months prior. So not like JOM. Fyfe in 2018 more likely

Don't really know if I want JOM. I admit, the prospect of him playing his best years in the red and white excite me however it's too much of a gamble to trade in someone on that much coin who has shoddy knees. We need the cap space so we can re-sign Heeney and Mills soon. Getting rid of Tippett after trading Nankervis isn't wise too.

He's got mates in Sydney (GWS boys), got the surf , but most importantly, he knows Hawthorn will be shite after getting rid of Lewis & Mitchell.

At the Hawks all the pressure will be on him..At the Swans he doesn't need to be a hero, just needs to do his job.

doubt we'd get him tbh. We would seriously need to look at our ruck depth if we lose tippo.
Naismith can be injury prone as seen in the last few years.

We can find ruck depth. JOM has the ability to be one of the best midfielders in the league. You can't find that.

Not saying i think we'll get him but if you get in the minds of our club supremos after being illegally hit with that trade ban, they would have had to be planning some serious pay back ideas. Rumours were that we were into Ryder &/or Frawley. Now since then we have seriously cleared some players.
These guys all get wind of who is into who. I don't think we would have been happy having the Hawks get into Tommy's ears.
The least we can do is get into JOM 's ears just to tell him he has more chance of a p'ship with us because the Hawks no longer have their 2 best players of 2016 to play alongside & he gets to play alongside Buddy!

Would have preferred a pick for Tippett, keep Mitchell, keep Nankervis then clear All 3 for a player that hasn't played in 2 years.

Just saying.

If that's our list management strategy I do not agree with it at all.

oh don't get me wrong. i will go from six to midnight if we land JOM. I'm just trying to not get my hopes up...
And yep i bet we can find a good mature ruckman somewhere.

What is this talk about us going after O'Meara?

If it is true I don't like it as he would cost a small fortune and he is far too big a risk injury wise.

you are kidding, right?
Someone posting that it will be 3 way deal,

swans-10
gc-tippett
haw-jom

would explain us being 'in it' and the tippett talk
There is very little chance of GC dealing with Hawthorn and allowing JOM to go there without the Hawks giving up anything less than a significant player. This trade is becoming a bit of a p155ing match and the Suns are prepared to let him walk on a principle.

Personally, I dont see what the fuss is about, guy has dodgy knees and played very little footy, this one comes with a big risk, however given the amount of footy Tippo has plauyed, the risk is perhaps lesseneed somewhat.

The ONLY people that really know what we are paying our players are those that do the contracts & we are known to be aggressive traders in order to get something we are missing to go the next step.
What did we have an abundance of after GF day?
In & under, ball winning plodding midfielders. Did that help us beat the exact opposite teams in 2016, in tge Dogs & Giants? No way. We were a mile off them.
What were we missing? Outside run with power & clean ball skills.
Would that have helped out Kennedy for all the work he did? Absolutely! It eould have made us quicker. May have still lost because we didn't have the speed to keep up with the umpiring decisions.
