I love the optimism on here, if we do land jom well I will be doing a certain something very furiously
If we swap Tippett's salary for O'Meara's then we might not have the currency to offer Heeney what he deserves. I'll happily pass on O'Meara to lock Heeney in.

.... I get the feeling you might be just as furious doing your business if Heeney re signs so I guess it's win-win

Sure we do. Get rid of Tippo and TMitchell.

Mitchell wasn't just about salary cap, that's just the story media ran with. They didn't want to pay him more even if the money was there.
I don't believe this one, sorry. We would've signed Mitchell up if the money was there. For me, it's obvious we have a lot of money tied up in Franklin and Tippett so it's natural to have players leave because of salary cap pressure.

Far as I'm concerned, the minute the Nankervis deal went through, any JOM talk went off the table. We'd only be able to afford him (salary cap wise and in a trade) is if we traded Tippett, and we're not going to do that now that Nankervis is gone. At least we shouldn't. Would be absolute madness.

I personally don't see us getting jom, but the dawks meltdowns on the main board would be epic. They're already melting down, so I'm really hoping he ends up anywhere but there, given they've sold their culture and souls to get him there.

Imagine the meltdowns!!!!

If I'm right about the Jaeger bomb, will you believe me?

It wasn't all about the money, we can theorize why later, but I suspect it was because we had too many similar types in the midfield and didn't want to pay him more.

Anyway , another topic, let's see if we drop the JBomb

I haven't seen anything suggesting that's true? If it was we wouldn't have offloaded Nank.
Yes we haven't seen or heard anything yet...patience grasshopper ITS ON!

Btw who cares about Nank, seriously? Why are you guys getting worked up about plodder Nank? We can find a ruckman to run around in the NEAFL in a rookie pick or Witts, Minson whatever.....

They will get found out. To win a flag you have to get used to winning the games that aren't on your terms and winning ugly. They love their outside game but it's not sustainable. I suspect Cameron's a decent enough coach to give them that fine tuning they need, but as of right now they're a run-or-die team. (Like Port in 2014)
Based on the highlighted we got found out against GWS in the 1st Final and Bulldogs in the GF.
We are just as susceptible to being found out as they are especially against top 8 sides.
We are just more consistant in winning the games we should win against the teams we are expected to beat with the exception of Richmond
Another year of maturity and the addition Deledio puts them well placed to be more consistent
If they are more consistent in 2017, then the onslaught could be frightening.

Trade radio said that we didn't even make an offer to XR and could only afford 1 of Nankervis/XR & Towers in our cap.
That's rubbish though - Harley said we offered XR a two year deal but he wanted to move back to Victoria.

The Trade Radio guys are ridiculously ignorant of most Swans-related facts.

Pretty obvious with how late he nominated for a trade. Unlike Nankervis (who everyone knew was a possibility) so that Richmond was making a play behind the scense, XR came from nothing.

If the Hawks deal doesn't pan out, O'Meara may end up at Essendon. We couldn't afford $750k under our salary cap, not that he's worth that with the medical risk, and he wants to play in Melbourne anyway.

If Tippett wants to go to Gold Coast I'd let him, we could use the cap relief. But I think it's probably just a rumour.

Don't forget the back-to-back quad injuries in 2013 which saw him out for 15 games, plus the Achilles, knee and glute injuries in the other seasons.
No doubt Reid has some major question marks over his susceptibility to injury. The past can be a good indicator to the future in this regard - but both camps have reason to believe. I want him to prevail because I believe that he makes us a much better team.
