They also said a fourth year player will get offers of $900k a year to play.
I dont believe that we didn't have money for XR/Nankervis but I can easily believe that if Prestia is getting 700K, clubs would be stupid not to offer 900K a year for someone of Heeney's talent.

I reckon it will be closer to 700/800K but it is not that unbelievable.

Prestia will be entering his 7th season on $700k. If a club offers $900k to Heeney then so be it. Given Martin/Fyfe are both free agents most of the money will be targeted at them.

We had the money for XR/Nankervis just not guaranteed game time.

Come on Spud Petrie - you know it makes sense
If we lose Tippet wouldn't we rather go after Witts? Tall guy from Sydney, cost about the same but with more potential. Also he's not a complete tool - but the Swannies seem to have thrown out the no dick head policy years ago

7th Season, 4th season who cares? Heeney is already a better more damaging player then Prestia. Heeney is also younger and has more upside.

What does it matter how many years they have played?

Not to mention if a club got Heeney, it would be similar to us signing buddy. It would be huge news and the marketing etc... would easily be worth the contract.

So we give away another big man after losing Nankervis and we're left with the likes of Naismith, Reid and Sinclair - hardy souls the lot of them! And we give away our 14 pick. And we then get a lad who hasn't played in two years due to two crap knees - and who has stated a strong preference to return to Victoria. Really? Seriously, really?!
If this happens, it really does add weight to what I had thought were spurious allegations that strong words were directed his way after the Grand Final.

Why wouldn't it matter?
