GWS have more than enough points to match any bid we make, still make their own pick in the first round, then laugh at our attempt
Not if we use picks 14 & 17 to work our way (improving our draft position - Harley) to their true points value of pick 4 or even 6 both of which are held by GC!
It's a clever way of taking advantage of the Hawks desperation. Of course other switching of picks/player that goes over our heads will take place.

Something is happening though. We can no longer deny that!

They will go into debt in 2017 not that those bids will happen anyway.
They have good kids next year as well, I think Perryman is the one we could get. Don't think Giants would be that keen to go into debt for Perryman I think he could be surplus as they are getting Deledio in anyway with Shaw and Williams both AA quality in that position.

They have so many assets they can get the points needed next season. Perryman is good but he's not 'sell the farm' good

Only thing I can think of is that we hate GWS more than Hawks & really want one of their guns in their academy who really wants to be a Swan!
Most of these kids in their academies would have grown up as Swan supporters so it is feasible that we are targeting such a scenario where we bid on one of their academy guns!
Most of the better prospects are Riverina boys and based on those I've met over the last few years (and I've met quite a few due to football rep teams) very few are/were Swans fans.

I'd rather take my chance that Scrimshaw is available at 14. Who knows the draft is so even after the top 4.
Unless we got 4 maybe from the GC:

Swans:
get: Pick 4
loose: Pick 14, 17

GC:
Get: Pick 10, 14, 17
Loose: JOM, Pick 4

Hawks:
get: JOM
loose: Pick 10

But with our list turnover I would prefer 2 first round picks

How embarrassing to tell your employer you want to quit but when you go out to the market all you hear is silence - and everyone else knows that that's all you're hearing!

Perryman might be passed on, especially now that Deledio is going there. Pick 10 still might not be enough though. Give me any two of Florent, Perryman, Simpkin, Logue or Bolton and I'm happy. I'm starting to really like the look of Will Heyward too.
