From reading this board we are officially the new Collingwood.

Everyone linked to us and every supporter believes it.

The new Collingwood? That's bullshit TBH as at least one/two players nominate Collingwood every year. We've only ever really had Tippett and Franklin nominate Sydney in recent times!

Would rather JOM on our list than kurt
2 years out but you dont loose talent
Kid is 100% what we need

Tippett can be covered

Talent like Jom in the mids
Not to mention we've been paying for Tippett to live in the medical room for the last four seasons so we'd be well equipped to handle anything O'Meara's knees throw at us

I really rate Tippett. And he is best 18 with us all day every day.

I really rate JOM and he is best 18 all day every day with us.

But I would rather ship off Tippett to GC for a pick/pick swap/pick and a so so player etc and leave JOM right alone.

Reason is Heeney needs to stay and Mills, who will be better than Heeney in my useless opinion, will need coin as well. Lock up thise two now with the Tippett coin for as long as we can. Go to the draft with a lot of decent picks and cull like mad in the ressies. See what falls from the tree.

A stop gap guy like Del Santo or even Boomer, that type anyway, for a year or so makes more sense than paying JOM $700k when we have 2 Ferraris sitting in the garage ready to let loose.

Free up cap. Keep Nanny bring in draft talent that hopefully clicks and go from there.

Would be happy to see Tippett go in a deal that netted us O'Meara.

Don't understand the concern from some people regarding O'Meara's injury when, as others here have said, Tippett has spent half his contract on the bench. Can't see this getting too much better either when he's 30 years old.

He only has another 2-3 years max I reckon, and O'Meara has many years to get right.

O'Meara is exactly what we need in the midfield.

Tippet is one of our main forces in the ruck so if he goes our ruck may be dominated by the others teams.
Our ruck was perfectly fine with him out and Naismith in. Naismith is the key to our ruck not Tippett and the problem is that both Naismith and Tippett need to spend most of their time in the ruck as they aren't strong forwards.

What we need is Naismith as the primary ruck and then another fwd/ruck to give him a chop out, and unless Tippett can improve his marking and making runs in the fwd 50 we are better off trading him and keeping Naismith and Nankervis

Trade Tippo?! The same Tippo that was 3rd in the B&F before he got injured right?? That Tippo?? That's while our other main ruckman is having a shoulder reco this off season & the other 2 haven't proven to be best 18 yet, one of which has been looking for offers elsewhere the last few weeks??

Would want to be for a bloody good reason we get rid of Tip IMO. I trust our guys though. They haven't let me down (too much) over the past decade or so, so why should I start worrying now?

I can't see us trading him, but if we did I think the primary reason would have nothing to do with his ability or performance - it's just clearing some cap space. We'd have to be confident in Nankervis staying, which I guess becomes more likely if he's basically guaranteed a spot in the 22.

I'm really surprised that some are so quick to forget just how good Tippo was pre injury.

Yes he spends a bit of time in the trainer's room but he gets back out on the park.

We've seen precisely zero from JOM for 2 years!! There's no guarantee his knees won't explode at the first sign of contact.

Be interested in your views as to which players from the two grand finals played well in both, played well in one and played well in none.

My instinct would be kennedy and buddy in category 1, grundy in category 2 and the rest of the two times grand finalists in cat 3.

Would have Rampe in category 2 as well but otherwise completely agree. People had a go at Buddy for his performance this year but considering he was playing with two injuries he did well, and 2014 he was just about the only player of ours that played well.
