Id keep De Boer. He's young but mature enough to lead the younger players. He leads by example and we need that going forward. Just how he goes about his off season life (studying, law) is something to strive after. He has done a lot to get himself where he has. That's invaluable.
Totally agree. MDB is valuable depth and a mature body to help out the youngsters not to mention a good club man.

Don't think GU and Clancee have any worth left, Suban would MDB is a free agent.

I think we played a variation of the old game plan with Ibbo often loose at the back? He played well still but is Lyon looking for something more going forward and that game plan was just the best chance to give us a win for Pav.
I still don't understand why we have to change a game plan that gets results? Public pressure that our games are ugly, don't score enough goals, yada yada yada, shouldn't force us to implement a plan that we can not execute. Just need to play like the first half of 2015

I think we got found out, short passes picked us top pieces and it meant all the opposition coaches took that style into our games.

We had a game plan like a cliff with waves crashing against it, seemingly scoring our own goals when the opposition let us move the ball in the one method up the line otherwise we reset to defend and win the ball back. Wave after wave against the rocks.

We absorbed so much opposition attacks until the ball ended up at a stoppage up the ground and Fyfe wrestled the ball out for a clearance to reset the same arm wrestle up the ground.

We seemed to have more holes in defense yesterday but we attacked the corridor with passes instead of long kicks down the line, opened up the ground and moved the ball fast - suddenly we look quite good.

Partially because the afl will change the rules year after to make it harder to play that way

These 15 players may not be at the club.

Hannath - No future at all, look for a ruck elsewhere.
Clarke - FA
Mayne - FA

de Boer - FA
C Pearce - FA
Ballas - Contracted, but by all reports he will leave for a pick.
Barlow - By all reports, we will try to get a pick for him via trade.
Ibbotson - I think he will be shopped around to see if anyone is interested.

Pavlich - Retire
Johnson - Contracted, but question marks on his body. Will probably stay
Suban - Contracted, but should be traded if somebody offers anything decent
Morabito - Finally showing some good signs, but the club may give up on him I would keep him on the rookie list.
Silvagni - a good end of the year, should get a new contract, but may get offered more money\years else where.
Mzungu - Delist.
T Smith - Can not keep fit. I would keep him on the rookie list, especially if we have 8+ changes to our list. Club may decide that Shaw or another mature age recruit has a better change of making it.

The bolded players are probably worth picks inside the 1st 3 rounds, the other players are not worth a lot.

That may be the case. But if others are offering better opportunities than being a leader at Peel. It would be cruel of us to even offer him a contract. I would hope that we would keep him around only if no one else would take him.

I would like to keep one out of De Boer, Pearce, Mzungu and Suban. With De Boer and Pearce being my preference. Mzungu has been the most disappointing this year and Suban may get us something

Agree that the last few games changed some of my thinking on these borderline guys.
Would like to keep Silvagni, I prefer him to Dawson and Dawson should retire first after 2017.
Ibbo is required I think as an option if MJ can't get up. We need that marking support down back and he is versatile even if not the best rebounder.
DeBoer - deserves a one year extension.
Suban - trade if we can get anything for him.
Clancee, Gu - sorry guys see ya later.

Our game plan relied heavily on contested marks from Sandilands and Fyfe to move the ball up the ground. Notice how much better we looked yesterday with Sandi taking marks on the wing? Not a lot has changed.

The difficulty is that Peel are still in the finals.

It should be this week
It has been mentioned that 20 players are qualified to play for Peel those that will be allowed to play will be known this week. I understand that no decisions will be made about players whilst those players are playing in the finals. So I guess Micky B may be the first one we hear about in regards his future because his season is done. Brady Grey is another out of contract and whose season is done. Ross said in his after game presser that medicals etc will be done in first part of the week but players have this morning off and front at the club at midday today.

But I think even for people like Barlow their future will remain uncertain for quite a while unless he was to get an offer from another club. Without that I think all they will tell him now is he is a trade possibility and they will see what pans out during the trade period. Not a good look but the reality of what lots of clubs will be doing, if he gets no offer from another club and no interest in trade period he will be given a 1 year deal offer from Freo.

One of MDB and Muzungu need to stay as back up players. Both set the running standard during pre season and they can teach the kids how to be hard at it. I don't see a game day spot for either but definitely a playing/training mentor role. MDB could easily be groomed for transition into coaching

But what if Fremantle agreed to trade in Black and pay the rest of his salary IF North give that freed up salary to Chris Mayne as a free agent deal?
North get a fine citizen, and a contested forward who might kick straight again.
Fremantle get a forward who might come good, and a high draft pick as compensation.

Mayne gets a huge salary at a new club, which would be good compensation for leaving his home state and the club he loves. Black gets a second chance to be an AFL player and to come home.
I feel like the afl would label that as outside the rules and take pick 3 off us if we tried it

You don't think we've got much faith in Tabs and Ape?
I cant give you a straight yes or no answer on this... Lets put it this way...

1st off the pav and sandi era is finished. We are eventually going in a new direction. Tabs in my eyes will be a 30-40 goal a season tall forward. Apeness will be another 30-40 goal a season forward.

This is why I think we will get Darcy Cameron as another ruck forward.

Pav in his day was a gun 60-70 goal a season key foward and sandi was a dominant ruck.

But the direction were going with now is Apeness and Darcy Cameron both being ok rucks but both will kick 60 goals between them or 30 goals each.

So does that answer your question?

Aaron Black says hi. Would you guys be against Black and pick 65 for pick 39?
If the bloke was out of contract and was a free agent for 8-9 years. Freo would of taken him.

Saying that... If he joined us he would be our most experienced tall forward

By 5 games over Tabs.
And Aaron is the 'tall' forward who gets beaten in a marking contest by small defenders, can't mark above his head, can't turn.
