I cant give you a straight yes or no answer on this... Lets put it this way...

1st off the pav and sandi era is finished. We are eventually going in a new direction. Tabs in my eyes will be a 30-40 goal a season tall forward. Apeness will be another 30-40 goal a season forward.

This is why I think we will get Darcy Cameron as another ruck forward.

Pav in his day was a gun 60-70 goal a season key foward and sandi was a dominant ruck.

But the direction were going with now is Apeness and Darcy Cameron both being ok rucks but both will kick 60 goals between them or 30 goals each.

So does that answer your question?
OK, I see where you're coming from. More a forward/ruck than a true KPF. I think we're set for mature age tall forwards particularly if we get McCarthy but we certainly do need a mature age ruck or ruck/forward if Clarke's knees are shot.

Not a word apart from he wasn't to happy about not getting a game in the seniors. Balla's is a good mate of Mora's, maybe thats the reason Ballas is peed off.
Umm for you is harder ,i expected mora to go if he stay a bonus, just look at menzel he is doing good.

Who the hell said we are going after Cameron? With all the recruiters and Brad Lloyd and Ross and Bondy watching Cameron get pantsed by Sam Collins on Saturday at the Peel game against Claremont at the Showground I doubt we would be after him. That's not coming from the club but you might think that what couldhavebeen has posted about Cameron is official sadly for Coulda;) it isn't. Hannath looked like a prospect on the weekend compared to Cameron.

Just thinking aloud here.

We need a couple of picks in this draft in the 20's.

We MAY get one for Chris Mayne. We MAY get a third for Zac Clarke and who knows what else for Barlow, Ballantyne, Ibbotson.

Gold Coast have a shed load of picks in the 20's.

If for instance we were confident that Hill can get over the line for a second and McCarthy for a second third, I''d consider 3 and 39 for Gold Coasts 9, 21 and 25 or 28.

If Hill and McCarthy are here we've added a class midfielder and a forward.

Could take English/Marshall/Rotham at 9, then look at Griffin Logue in the 20's and another runner mid?

I would be more interested in shopping Suban and Barlow in particular to GC for some of those picks in the 20s. MDB as well for a FA compensation. They have said they need players to replace the years they put into Prestia and JOM while new draftees develop. Then look at using one of those for B Hill. I just do not want to see use lose pick 3 - I think quality beats quantity every time and we will have enough depth players.

Yep, I see Gold Coast as a real "buyer" for next year and could easily be convinced to part with a second rounder for an experienced player that suits their needs. Just leaves convincing our players that Gold Coast are a "destination" club!!!!

It's entirely possible we get something for them.
And I've argued elsewhere that we should keep pick 3, but I tell you what if we got a second and third for Clarke and Mayne, and assortment of seconds and thirds/4ths for Ballantyne, Suban, Barlow and we could do that deal with GC, that would be very tempting.

We could cut the list very hard, and replace with a lot of quality in one draft.

If we could grab Hill and McCarthy, Rotham, Logue and Sweet/Ladhams for instance we'd have crossed off every single one of our needs.

Classy mid (Hill), tall forward (McCarthy), classy, tall running back and Johnson replacement (Rotham), KPB (Logue), Ruck (Sweet/Ladhams)

I have been watching this board & decided to compile all of the main speculative suggestions from this board so far.
Some are really wing & prayer suggestions (eg Jack Martin, Jack Riewoldt) - some are realistic (eg Hill, McCarthy).
Players marked with an * are WA origin players.
Freo has said they'll be focusing of the draft so it will probably only end up being McCarthy & Hill, but it's still a bit of fun.
Please feel free to add & delete players as things move along.

Looks about right. I think we'll land about half of these guys.
