So we should get Lennon and McCarthy this trade period? Almost has a ring to it, maybe the Dockers would be fixing a hole in the forward line.
I would trade our 2017 second rounder for Mccarthy.

Our tall forward stocks consist of Tabs, Apeness, Smith.

I don't see a net benefit in trading our top three pick to bring the later picks higher up unless our targeted player will slip.

Missing out on the A grade mid to get more B grade players later doesn't get me excited. I'd rather have two first round picks and then nothing for two rounds than a late first and a few mid seconds.

The big question is what pick with SPS go at?

I think he could slide to 7-8 unless he improves a bit, or stars at the draft camp.

Still it is a massive risk to take, trading down a 3 or 4 picks hoping the player you want will still be there.

Pick 3 for Pick 8 and Pick 21 (from GC) would be tempting.

I'd take that, 21 would get Hill & 8 still gets us a quality player.
Win for GC with more high end picks too.

Have a feeling Brisbane is going to get a start of 1st round priority. So if that happens I'd say
1. McCluggage (Brisbane)
2. Brodie (Essendon)
3. SPS (Brisbane)
4. English/Marshall (Freo)

Though Brisbane could pry English with 3 in that case. Gets them a project ruck for after Martin & a key mid in McCluggage. Poor kids going up there...

How many years has Apeness been 18 now? If we need a journeyman for a year or so there are plenty.
Appness is 22 shortly has not played much in 3 seasons and is our forward saviour, though IMO could play ruck but we better get a forward in the draft then. Hannath is a journeyman might as well keep him then if Clarke leaves.

Has anyone seen Nathan Blakely play in the WAFL? Is he good?
I've seen him a fair bit, but mainly earlier seasons as he did a knee this year. He plays as an undersized ruck for Swan Districts and I thought he was very good until I found out his height and realized he would be unlikely to play that position in the AFL. He would need to learn to play a different position if he came to Freo. He tends to make a lot of difference to Swans success rate when he is playing for them. They have missed him this year. As mentioned, facebook rumour, and Freo tend to talk to a lot of potential draftees and take very few.

Would you trade our next year's 1st rounder for 2 of GC's 2nd rounders this year. Maybe get us Rotham and Battle.
I don't believe things are that dire, that we have bottomed out and require a full rebuild. How many kids
Just gut, but I feel like if SPS gets past Brisbane he might still be around at pick 6/8...
Like most non Victorian clubs, you have to research the Go Home factor, Brisbane have lost plenty to that. Just like we mainly
avoid Vic Metro kids.
McCluggage, SPS, Marshall, should be on their radar.

I could be wrong but I am pretty sure SPS was mentored by Simon Black, and that he was a Brisbane fan growing up. Given Black has left and the Lions are a bit of a basket case I'm not sure that means anything but he may not be as much of a flight risk as some assume. I still think he'd be the wrong choice for them for where they're at - and especially so now that Black has left the premises.

As for Barlow, I think some random may have jumped the gun on Twitter. Last I saw (yesterday) Barlow was meeting with Freo in the next week to discuss his future - I don't think that has happened yet.

Sounds about right. Can't see barlow going, he does have too much to offer as a player and a leader
