No love for Ainsworth or Petrevski-Seton, any more. :)

Certainly no-one hollering for a Marshall.

As far as Marshall goes, I would think we have KP's covered this year with it looking likely we will bring in Stewart along with Marchbank, to go with Levi, and Harry , Jack and Charlie from last year. With rumours of some sort of agreement with Peter Wright to come to us in 2017 not really sure Marshall fits our needs. If we had two or three top 10 picks, Id certainly consider Petrovski - Seton as one of our draftees if he was available at our picks. Aisworth not really needed if rumours of Matera and/ or Pickett eventuate.

My Order of wants now
McLuggage
Brodie
Scrimshaw
McGrath

If it was based on what I saw today, I would take Taranto. One touch player that makes great decisions with the ball.

Scrimshaw was very impressive. I believe he can transition into a talented mid. Brodie's disposal is a concern. Long term I can see the likes of Taranto and Scrimshaw being better prospects

Also liked a couple of guys for later picks

I reckon you're right and the more I think about it, the more I feel Brodie will slip and possibly even by us.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least should Taranto & Scrimshaw get taken before him.
A few weeks ago that would have been crazy talk but now it's at least a possibility.

Maybe Brodie doesn't want to go to Essendon? Might have eased off.

Don't read much into Brodie's back end of the year.

He's pretty much cooked after playing midfield bull in every game across 3 formats all year, while carrying a few niggles.

For us Carlton fans who know what Crippa carried thru the year, i would compare Brodie's persistance to that of him this year.

My Top 3 remains

McCluggage

Brodie

Petrevski-Seton

There are always surprises and McGrath is the obvious one who will likely be wedged between McCluggage and Brodie.

Again, it may well come down to who is holding which pick before we may see a connection between player 7 club.

Brodie's disposal is becoming more and more of a concern for me. Today didn't do him many favours. We already have a gun inside mid with kicking issues, maybe grabbing another isn't such a good idea.

Scrimshaw was impressive as was Taranto and McGrath.

With the following players available in this year's draft being McCluggage, McGrath, Brodie, SPS, Ainsworth, Scrimshaw and Taranto we simply MUST keep pick #5. We should get a high quality player out of any one of those.

Screw giving up #5 and #23 for Marchbank and #7. That #7 will get pushed to #8 with GC grabbing Bowes and we will pretty much have no choice but to take whoever is left out of those.

Yep.

Big Board ratings can still be worked on but trying to link any players anywhere is a waste of time until the end of tade week in 3 weeks time.

Who knows what current players will be where and what picks Club will hold in 3 weeks time.

I just can't see us handing over this years pick.....next years for sure, but not this years.

It just wouldn't make sense and i don't care how good next years draft is going to be or for the 'fact' (as some would have you thinking) that we will finish bottom three. It doesn't matter. This year has to be milked hard again for trades and draft picks and we have to have a relatively lean year here, next year......then so be it.

Continuity is imperative after last year haul.....and then we can take a breather....bring in a quality FA....and relaunch the following year.

Essendon will forego their first for who knows what GWS will give them?
Pick #7, pick #16 and a player to boot. Just watch.
I recall Dodoro talking about the Zach Merrett pick and he said it was him or Rory Lobb. A big need for the Dons and they could still get a quality mid at 7.

If I have to watch Snidley Whiplash licking his lips this year, I'll stick a fountain pen in my eye............although he was a little cute last year. :)

As Steven trigg has said multiple times we are NOT giving up pick 5.Scrimshaw,Taranto or McGrath for us.Be rapt with either.

Remember this name Patrick Kerr, blues into him big time 2nd round pick.

I'm already well aware of Kerr. Problem is, I don't rate him in the top 25-30. If we had say pick #33 then I'd be all for taking him.

I think if recruiters don't think he'd make for a good forward, I wouldn't take him at #133

What would be the point of having another Foster?

Rate him mid 3rd to 4th rnd pick....

Just looking at recent history, I'd say don't risk it.
When was the last time a quality KPF was picked up around the 40's mark? Tippett in 2006 @ #32

Much better chance at getting a mid there than a KPF.
Jack Steven #40 Easton Wood #41 Rory Sloane #44 Luke Parker #40 Lachie Neale #58 etc etc.

Can't see the point of taking a tall just because there were no talls that were better.

Are we in a position to go for specific positions yet, or is it the best available player at the time of the relative pick?
