Think you could be right. With Picks 4, 6, 8 and 10 they can address multiple needs and will probably base their picks on who other clubs in between would take. I reckon it may go:

1. Essendon - McLuggage
2. GWS - McGrath
3. Brisbane - Petrevski-Seton
4. Gold Coast - Brodie
5. Gold Coast - Bowes (match Carlton bid)
6. Carlton - Taranto
7. Fremantle - English
8. Gold Coast - Scrimshaw
9. Sydney - Marshall
10. Gold Coast - Ainsworth
Would love to know who Sydney are looking at, I agree with you that they should be looking at a tall, given the young midfield talent they have. They moved up the draft ladder for a reason (maybe Logue?).

If Skittles is goneski (pity as I would have liked to have seen him given a run) then I will be left with only JGM.
I have reservations over both SPS and SPP (only based on what I read here) - is it just me as the word potential just doesn't sit well with me - at 5 I want guaranteed 200 gamers who find their own ball - at 25 sure take potential guns who might win us games

Anyone able to allay my fears over either SPS or SPP?
I have the same fears over SPS at 5. He is probably the most talented player in the draft but I'm not sure he is what we need right now, well we need players like him but I feel he is a bit of a risk for pick 5. Powell-Pepper is completely different, the bloke is a bull. No way he is in the equation for our first pick but definitely our second pick if still available.

Brodie sounds like Cunnington. Will that be good enough?
He is highly rated. Tall midfielder who reads the play well and has s good mix of speed and endurance . He has good character which is important . Either Brodie or Taranto and I'll be happy . I'm excited by our late picks , I think we can find a gem down there

Brodie is a must. We need very specific types for our midfield, we need to be able to compete at every clearance rotating Cripps and another big body, and then need to be able to go into beast mode with both in there together, adding outside run (murphy, pickett types). Brodie provides an automatic need for us, in that he knows how to win his own footy.

One thing is certain. SOS needs to keep his cards very close to his chest this year! GC have picks 4,6,8,10 so we need to make sure nobody knows who we want. If we like Brodie then give the impression we like Taranto (and vice versa).

That woman who always gets the good info on who we are picking, needs to either be given false info or nothing at all!

In an ideal world, Bowes will be bid on before GC's pick, but if that doesn't happen they will take the player we want at 4 (if they like him). We need no leak this year!

I didn't know that. I don't know why but I just have a feeling he is the player we will select.

Same. Most write-ups on him indicate that he's a naturally offensive footballer. We've spent 2016 building a solid team defense, and now we need to add the offensive weapons. A young player with great hands and goal sense, and the ability to move through traffic at pace is a perfect fit to complement our slower midfield group and developing tall forwards.

I reckon we can get an inside-leaning mid with pick 25 to partner up with Cripps. We don't need two inside guns, one with good support is fine if we've got quality players on the outside as well.

At this point it is still a BIG unknown, but since we can F/S a rookie pick, I'd say there is a very good chance of that happening. Bradley did well enough in the TAC Cup, getting a mention almost every time he played (I can remember once where he didn't). He didn't have a great game playing for the NB Development team (his only try), but the team got flogged that day and NOBODY much impressed.
Athletically he is still producing excellent running results.
He is a much better rookie chance than anyone else at this point.
I do NOT expect him to placed directly onto the senior list. If he gets there, then he will earn it with good games in the VFL.

Interesting.

He was given permission to train with the senior group in June, after being allowed to play TAC as a 19 year old.

We'd have to rate him to do all that.

Call me a soft****, but I would almost get a year in my eye with a young Silvagni and a young Bradley in our team. My two favourite players at 7 years of age when I first watched the Blues. Two of my three all time Carlton favourites (with Kouta).

SEN reported earlier today that Fagan is very keen on Ainsworth and more than likely Lions will select him at pick 3.

So sounds like pick #5 is either Brodie, Taranto or SPS.

Not sure Fagan has any power with regards to recruitment, surely you leave that in the hands of people who are paid to do that job. In saying that, I've been hearing for a long time (before Fagan) that the Lions like Ainsworth.

This is so true.

With picks either side, GC will be desperate to know who we like at 5.

Thus our McKay/Curnow order last year with us possibly rating Curnow higher but needing to keep Harry away from Adelaide.

Brisbane have grunt but lack class. Reckon SPS is the best option for them.

GC will take Brodie first if they don't have to use 4 on Bowes, because he's the only gun inside mid in the top 10. They'll have options for outside types with later picks.

Feel would be silly not to take the local boy in English, unless SPS slides to 7. Sydney will go a tall forward I suspect, as they'll need to set up a post Buddy/Tippett forward line for when they retire or get pushed out (to shed salary space).

I recon sydney will reach for Logue for a grundy replacement their back 6 is very old bar alir alir.

Knowing that, I reckon Ainsworth is an undersized spud with casboult like kicking, hopefull Brodie falls to us.
