Setterfield, Perryman, McCreadie, Sproule, Mutch

If Setterfield and Perryman are bid on in the first round, as I suspect they will, GWS will have to go into deficit, if they want to acquire anyone else from their Academy

CFC Pick 5 bid of Setterfield, if they match it, all but wipes out pick 15 & 37
AFC or PAFC could bid on Perryman with 13 or 14, all but wipes out their other 6 picks

Unless they use pick 2 for Setterfield, which they may do.

At 25, I prefer B. Cox, Sproule a close 2nd

I rate McCreadie & Mutch, late 2nd, early 3rd
They wouldnt have traded pick #7 up to #2 if they were just going to take Setterfield regardless

I agree, just stating all the possible scenarios.

Personally, I hope that we bid for Setterfield at 5, if he is one of the guys we rate. I also think that later in the 1st round, clubs will bid on Perryman

Taranto doesnt impress me enough for a top 5 pick. Parish vs Taranto. I'd take Darcy every day of the week.
Really? I think you find if they were in the same draft, Taranto's name would be read out first.

I know l would probably take a guy like parish before Taranto. Different types of players but l think parish looked more polished. From memory parish seemed like a safer pick.

Taranto has developed later though coming on strong in second half on season l think. Parish was always going to be a top pick l believe.

i still reckon scrimshaw at 5. Sos agrees

Really hard to pick who I like at pick 5. If the rumours are true, that McCluggage, McGrath and Ainsworth are gone in the top 3, I have narrowed it down to 3

Taranto Scrimshaw Setterfield.

Birth dates are a strong consideration for me with kids at this level, making Scrimshaw extremely enticing

At this stage, I rate them in the order above

I wonder how many 'favours' SOS owes GWS after the last trade period?

if Carl;ton can 'cost GWS' pickls 15 and 35 for one bloke - it woudl have to be a no brainer reminder to GWS that what goes around comes around.

Do it SOS.

AFL.com have an article saying that they expect 75-80 selections to be may in this years draft.
Showing the depth and evenness on offer this year, with the previous two years only producing 60-65 per year.
Also said that Hawthorns first selection is at pick 88, but that pick could turn into pick 66 as clubs use up selections on FS and academy players.
Does this mean our later picks 63,66,70,81 also could come in as much as twenty selections?

Scrimshaw just looks like he will be an absolute star. Taranto and Brodie are safer options. I don't know how to explain it but when i saw buddy and fyfe in their first few seasons I had the same feeling about them.
Scrimshaw has it. I don't know what it is but he has it.

Good point
Don't know the answer

If SOS was to reach for any player with pick 5, this is the kid to do it for.
Could be an absolute star. Moves so well for a tall player and has elite foot skills.
At worst he doesn't turn into a tall midfielder, we have a KK or Birchall type half back.

Just interesting to read a post by Knightmare in his mock draft thread that there are lots and lots of 200cm+ players in next year's draft so you could adequately say we will be lining one up next year, and I suspect not this year.

Matty Kreuzer at 27 so would give that player at least 3-4 years to get AFL ready.

Hawks would just go into deficit next year. Jarman might see Betts, Cameron, Menzel, Milera etc ahead of him at Adelaide and nominate Hawks.
Kind of irrelevant if he nominates the Hawks as they have zero points this draft. Depending where another club calls out his name will be very important. It would be crazy for Hawks to go in to a deficit as they already won't have a draft pick to around 34-36 next season too

under-rated movie - made in qld - pretty cheaply - poor script & lynda stoner - had a mate who was an extra - think they paid him in pineapples

Gus Mercurio, big Weppo from No. 96.

Tarantino raves about it.

True dinks.

There isnt a Darcy Parish in this draft, infact this draft apart from McLuggage there isnt really anyone who blows your hair back. Skills all round arent great. Theres good players atm thats about it.

Id take Parish as well unfortunately we can only choose from whats in front of us.

I'm really warming to the idea of Scrimshaw. Elite footskills, agility, and physical attributes.

Taranto just doesn't feel right.

Brodie is a gun but can you draft a guy at 5 with footskills that poor?
2 out 3 ain't bad for passing the name scream test......

Exactly, good to excellent foot skills are minimum prerequisite for a top 5 pick.
It would be absurd if a player were to look great finding the pill and then botch up the kicking.
