I'm all about Zac Fisher at 25, would be a perfect fit for the team we want to build. Would also seriously consider the likes of Kerr, Battle and Sproule if they're available.

I like Sproule as well. Would be keen on him at 25 as well, and i'm not entirely sure GWS would match that bid.

I bet half you you have never watched Brodie play, only read what so called experts are guessing where he will be selected.

All this guaranteeing and betting. :)
So you have an opinion but no insight. That's O.K.

NO WAY WE WILL SELECT BRODIE AT 5 AND DUMAN AT 25

That makes sense then, as what you're saying is that no way we'll select both.
We'll just select Brodie with our first and someone else with our second.....Is that right? :)

Have you watched Brodie play?

We will not select Brodie and Duman with our first 2 picks

Are you taking Knightmare's draft as gospel? Settefield at 15 and Perryman at 37, because they are the next 2 picks GWS have after pick 2 ?

Don't hold back aRRoW - who will we select at 5 and 25?

With all due respect mate, most of us don't have the time to go and watch junior footy so the only thing we can go off are highlights and write ups from posters who actually watch junior footy.

Agreed. Duman a bit underwhelming for pick 25. I'd rather get a tough nut, natural footballer not another project player who is athletic yet has poor skills.
Knightmare always picks obscure players he doesn't rate for Carlton (maybe that is off the back of some of our woeful selections in the past). Duman is not in his power rankings and Bishop ranks him at 77. Would be a melt down if we selected a flanker at this pick while passing more highly rated midfielders

IMO At #5 we will select Bowes and force GCS to match the bid... Then we will take who ever is left out of Brodie or Taranto. At 25 is Pat Kerr is available i think we will take him.. We need a fwd, he is rated at the mid 20s level, his father & grandfather both played in Navy Blue, His family are big financial contributors to the club so he is destined to play for us.

I think our biggest mistake was just not turning our list over enough and taking more picks even if they were later.
Temay was picked on "character" but just never had the talent to play a AFL level. I know everyone always wants players with great character but I just pray we never overlook someone like Franklin for a much less talented player. It is a fine line I guess.
There's a bit more to it than that, I have a friend who thinks that we give players the boot too soon. I haven't the heart to tell him that I think he's talking crap. Drafting a bit deeper helps but you also have to read what's likely to pan out in each draft and have the right picks in place to nab the players you want. For example, there often seems to be quality key defenders/tall utilities available mid draft and we either never seem to have a pick in the right spot or we overlook them for b-list smaller players who we probably think will help more around the ground. I

n the past, we have made the mistake of not making enough changes each year (often including an unwillingness to shop players around) but our list management philosophy seemed to be about trying to find the mythical wonder drug with our earliest picks whilst stopping the bleeding.

With all due respect then mate, perhaps the least you could do is watch the replays of some of the games, before stating who we will take at 5, rather than taking the word of someone else as gospel

Well, maybe you just answered the same question

He's a tall, skinny midfielder and I was thinking someone should have called his name with a third or fourth round selection in our phantom draft, 25 is too high, though.

Not that I need to explain myself to you, but i've been watching junior footy on and off for the past 10 years.

Awwww so you have never watched him play either, figures
Oh, I wasn't actually genuinely asking. Based on your poster history, I don't believe you have any valuable insights/inside knowledge whatsoever on the fact. There are few people I would believe when they say we won't/will be doing something, and you are not one of those.

Personally, from everything that's out there about the kid - Brodie was a clear top 2 for most of 2016, and has tired from a huge workload. Has a great attitude and character plus more than enough big games under his belt to show he'll be a very good player at the top level.

Like Cripps, he can develop and improve the other parts of his game and would do very well at Carlton.

Think it'd be down to Brodie, Taranto and Ainsworth given our need for mids and our desire to hold Pick 5 at the trade table.

Clown? Now we are resorting to that.

Tell me then, is you are going on Knightmare's selection in the first 4 picks, who would you take at 5?
beside the point - I can make any suggestions or have opinions on any players we take - but I can't guarantee it will happen
