No need to jump on a bloke because he used the word 'guarantee' I'd rather peopel get jumped on for sprouting other peoples views who were sprouting other people's views about other people's views - with aan adjectivfal change here or there as a nod to originality.
pendants are boring.
and besides if we pick Brodie and he turns out to be a gun - Arrow can suck it up for eva.![]()
We took exception to your use of the word 'guarantee' and lack of explanation. Anyway, as you said, let's leave it at that.
jimster - ease up on the exploded quotes - we're not putting a thai outdoor setting together ffs!!Yearly PSA: Knightmare, despite being a long-standing BF stalwart, is no older than 25 and comes off as a mad Pies supporter with how he picks for us in his phantoms. Probably a long-running inside joke.
What the **** am I even reading here guys, all this needs is a few hashtags and a link to a medium post. Get to work on your Twitter bios!
McCluggage is a star, with his light frame being the only question mid-year, and you only had to take one look at him in the All-Star game and at draft camp to know that he's hit the gym and takes it all very seriously. He's amazing in contested situations without being a pure bull, but his touch is so clean and his hands/kicking so quick it makes zero difference.
How very modern of you three
Was going to say, how do you know he's not an underwriter?![]()

Have you watched Brodie play?
We will not select Brodie and Duman with our first 2 picks
Are you taking Knightmare's draft as gospel? Settefield at 15 and Perryman at 37, because they are the next 2 picks GWS have after pick 2 ?

Neverjimster - ease up
not always boring

Knightmare thinks GWS match bid for Sproule, but I am not sure GWS have the points to do this (unless they go into deficit for next year).Knightmare rates scrimshaw at pick 5 and taranto at 10. Hope we get kerr. Blokes that are passionate about the team usually tend to make it.
Or Fisher, etc.Key thing to consider before we nail anything down.
1. There at least 3 players who will likely see the Academy bidding process (Bowes at 3 from Brisbane, Setterfield and Perryman from GWS) It is possible that Essendon makes a bid for one of those with Pick 1 which would eliminate either picks 2 or 4 if matched. It also could happen twice (Essendon bid on Setterfield, Brisbane bids on Bowes) if that happens it really throws more options at us than we likely would have considered as we might get someone we thought was gone.[/QUOTE
Yes agree this is a strong probability and will add an exciting dimension to our selection.
The sepulactive top five 2016 choices are all good prospects but to me Brodie is more your nuts and bolts type specialist midfielder.
Will have impact early , but with the specter of a Fyfe ? or options of a Bunker or Dew at pick 25 can we be more creative at pick 5?
Scrimshaw or SPS can deliver and destribute the ball very well under pressure and that's what we need. On ballers that create opportunity.
Finesse, talent and creativity with good work rate under pressure are the prerequisites for our pick 5 , he must have these attributes. Otherwise he ain't any good to us.
Go Baggers
Yes I have. Not a lot admittedly but I have watched him live as well as what is accessible to any if us.
Knightmare and me aren't exactly the best of commrades, but I do respect his efforts other than when it comes to discussing Collingwood.
We're all here to discuss our opinions and possibilities and I am interested in what you have to say, but you did use the word 'guarantee' for which you shouldn't be surprised when others pull you up on it.
I feel that you can only really use that term, under the following conditions:
1. You're part of the recruiting team.
2. You're a board member that has given out a directive.
3. Someone has leaked you info about Brodie that has him as one to avoid at all cost.
4. You are SOS.
Back to me and as I have put forward, I'm still 50/50 on Brodie/Taranto........but that's only an opinion and not a fact to what will come about.
Taking McCluggage, McGrath, Ainsworth and Bowes out of the equation, I feel that Setterfield may be the player we'd like most and then the two aforementioned.
So as a matter of interest; Who should we take at #5.............without having to guarantee it.![]()
I have sacrificed a chook and spread its gizzards across my kitchen floor to read the future.
Sorry Coach, already in the pot.Ummm, sorry, are you gonna eat that?
Coz if not, I'll have it....
Honestly, I didn't even know pick 135 was a thing.Maybe we should have kept pick 135 after all....
I would have used Pick 153 on Palmer if I was in charge. Thought we over paidMaybe we should have kept pick 135 after all....
..... You'd think after the first two blokes, the third one would've seen it....we don't do funny.........although there were these 3 blokes walked into a national draft .....
I've seen him play and he looks impressive to me, mind you I haven't seen him anywhere near what the recruiters have. I don't take any notice of Knightmare's draft as he may well do a lot of research but he doesn't have any knowledge of who clubs are interested in.Have you watched Brodie play?

Chook Gizzards be Praised...I have sacrificed a chook and spread its gizzards across my kitchen floor to read the future.
I see us selecting Taranto at 5 ahead of Brodie. SOS is concerned about Brodie's blazing away from stoppages and wants cleaner entries and goal scoring options.
If Powell-Pepper is available at 25 then Mr. Silvagni will be reading his name out. Hard bodied, hard running contested beast, ready to go. If he is unavailable, then welcome to Carlton Zac Fisher.
I have a feeling Scharenberg will still be available then too and would bring similar strengths.I have sacrificed a chook and spread its gizzards across my kitchen floor to read the future.

Good call Stig. I made the mistake of going to a 25 year reunion a few years back... Only because I wanted to show Jane Jones (not her real name) how hot MrsCoach is... Take that Jane!
But I've never had so many conversations that started with the sentence "hey, you know who died..?"
Quite surprised he has Brodie falling to us after he had Brodie listed at pick 3 up until yesterday. Will certainly take it. Brodie has gone from potentially number 1 to pick 5. He had Scrimshaw and Ainsworth much lower so has obviously had a change of opinion.http://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/17897568/knightmare-first-2017-afl-phantom-draft
Knightmare has his phantom up and he has us taking.......................
If people object to the word "guarantee" unless it is part of the 4 mentioned conditions and they share the same view as you, I understand.
Have stated many times, its not so much who I would take, more on who I wouldn't, happy to leave it at that![]()
