Just because SPS is indigenous, it does not make him a forward. Both are mid/fwd.
If I'm wrong I stand corrected.

So if SPS is not a FWD, what position does he play? as I've checked his and Picketts Bio's where it clearly states for both MID/FWD.Just because SPS is indigenous, it does not make him a forward.

At this stage he has no/minimal scoreboard impact
So you are saying he's a defender.....Do I really have to spell it out to you?
He is too short for a ruck and he spends very little time in the back half.
Not sure where you're getting the Bio information from, but kicking 10 goals in 33 colt/league appearances is not exactly a forward. So if SPS is not a FWD, what position does he play? as I've checked his and Picketts Bio's where it clearly states for both MID/FWD.
Winner winner chicken dinner! So you are saying he's a defender.....
I think he has potential to hit the scoreboard in the future, but just does not have that McCluggage/Taranto forward impact.
Winner winner chicken dinner!
He is a KPD!
He's saying he's a pure mid, not an outside guy who they hope picks up the rest and plays on a flank. He might be able to do that, but for 2 years he's been an industrious midfielder. So you are saying he's a defender.....
afl.com.au if you want to have a read. He's saying he's a pure mid, not an outside guy who they hope picks up the rest and plays on a flank. He might be able to do that, but for 2 years he's been an industrious midfielder.
Not sure what paragraphs you're reading on the guy, or what footage you've looked at, but he's not shown himself as a forward pocket in what I've seen of him. There's no shortage of such players in this draft, and SPS is not one.
What do you base that off?I reckon SPS will run home within 3 years so I'd rather take Brodie, Taranto, or Ainsworth, McGrath or McLug (if either of these 3 were somehow left at #5)
Yep SPS is about as pure a mid as you can get in this draft. Just because he's indigenous doesnt make him a half forward hahaHe's saying he's a pure mid, not an outside guy who they hope picks up the rest and plays on a flank. Maybe I was watching the Going Places interview on the AFL website with a different eye to you but watch it again its nearly all about home. What do you base that off?
Every interview he has said he has shown no signs of doing so?
Yeah but home is 12 hours north of perth... he's not going to go back to a perth team to get closer to homeMaybe I was watching the Going Places interview on the AFL website with a different eye to you but watch it again its nearly all about home.
http://www.wafl.com.au/players/view/5428The reason he's only kicked 10 goals from 33 games is he is not a high possession player and tends to go missing for parts of the game.
I've never doubted how talented he is, I just think he's not a player that impacts the scoreboard enough and the CFC better suited to pick up Tarranto if the opportunity presents.
Now days players are a lot more likely to play multiple positions as clubs look for players with a few more strings to their bow and again Tarranto in my opinion has that flexibility and huge upside.
SPS and Pickett don't play the same role at all.
I guess I just see him as a Liam Jarrah type who will find it hard to live in Melbourne, but I have been wrong before I thinkYeah but home is 12 hours north of perth... he's not going to go back to a perth team to get closer to home

I dont see him like that at all. He's been living away from home for like 6 years already. I think he's suited to it. Plus he's said he wants to play in Melbourne.I guess I just see him as a Liam Jarrah type who will find it hard to live in Melbourne, but I have been wrong before I think![]()
I'm not disputing his talent what so ever, in my opinion I'm hoping we draft Tarranto and I'm hoping that Picket comes good.http://www.wafl.com.au/players/view/5428

What are you talking about? And for anyone else reading, that's not wrong, he's been playing Colts since the age of 15.
Keep in mind it's reduced quarter lengths at the champs, and it's unusual to average more than 20 possessions a game unless you are a hard-bodied inside mid or getting lots of handball receives.
