I would love to get SPS/Brodie and SPP with our first two picks.
Some may criticize SPP's disposal but you can't teach that kind of intensity, IMO he will be one of the best from this draft.

I accidentally agreed to go to dinner on draft night :(

Make sure you order items 5, 25 and 48 from the menu.

62 and 65 are long shots to be memorable dishes.

You will have to decide on the night whether you have room for any more dishes after that...

The AFL has to be one of the most corrupt games going around. They pick and choose the rules and reward teams on the top end of the ladder like GWS and Sydney with high end draft picks through academies. How are teams like us supposed to match it with them when they consistently get players just as good and even better than what we are. The inconsistency is ridiculous. I wonder if we did the same thing as GWS next year whether we would have our draft picks stripped. Probably. And don't get me started on the tribunial! Anyway rant over :)

Halls Creek is miles from anywhere, and yes he would need to adapt to living in any capital city. But so would a lot of kids from the country.

But SPS wants to play AFL, wants to make his family proud, be a role model for other kids from his home town, and play in Melbourne. There are a lot of strong motivations driving this kid and with the right coach (like Bolton) and support structures at the club we'd be crazy to pass on SPS in this draft.

Sure, he wants to live in Melbourne.

But does he realise how different it is from the remote, rural town he has been living in for the past few years.....Perth?!?!

I am starting to lean back towards Brodie... Help me Arr0w

I can see an argument for 6 players. I just hope nobody cracks it when we make our selection.

Once they put the jumper on, all is forgiven.

I am probably one of a few that is still defending Boekhorst!

No I am still in his corner.

Never enough speed, but SPS is the 'hybrid' mid, the CFC talk about.

Inside/outside mid, capable of kicking goals.

This is why I like him. Wins his own footy, good on the outside and a beautiful kick on either side of his body.

Hammies aren't hard to fix.

You'd be surprised how poor some strength coaches are at AFL clubs are.
Dont assume they're the best in the business.

Hamstrings are injuries that shouldn't occur as frequently as they do in our game. Its due to poor training and muscle imbalances. Train like NFL and they wont get hammie issues.

Yeah Right. Thats why dumb ol lazy juddy did his hammy. he was lazy and too stupid to follow NFL guidelines

Averaged 18 possessions at a DE of 48% across the National Carnival and his kicking efficiency was only 38%. Hardly anything to write home about, especially for someone of his talents. Luke Bunker averaged 22 possessions at 72% DE with KE of 60% and laid just as many tackles at the same carnival. People on this board belt the crap of of Kerridge who has a DE of 61%, because he burns the ball. How hard will they go at SPS if he runs at 48%. Yes, SPS will get drafted about 50 places ahead of Bunker, but the simple reality is that Bunker has already demonstrated he can handle a step up in class and pressure without it adversely affecting his game.

Be under no illusions, I'll be quite happy if SOS drafts SPS, but at least attempt to keep some objectivity in your claims rather than simply quote some star-crossed journo.

Maybe SPS was just too quick with his disposals.

I feel like this needs to be a thing.

Every year on draft night, order Chinese dishes based on our selection of draft picks.

Very true Bic, the moment the number is called out they become one of ours and are embraced.
Brodie & Bolton/Rioli or SPS & Clarke/ Fisher either combination and I'd be over the moon. Plenty of excitment and suspense over this draft put the real feel for me is in the comming together of things , the rebirth and energised development of the CFC, its palpable and tantilising.

Also fyfe takes the kids pay rises off them, or limits them.

No it won't, it's absolutely frightening how much we'll have in the cap in the next few years

We know, during trade period, that Gibbs earned a significant majority of his contract in the last 2 years. All of the good players on long term contracts such as Murph would be the same.

I could envisage Fyfe being paid 70% of a 5 year contract in the first 2 years that's how much I reckon we've got laying around.

One hand on the towel ?

Not really. Has speed, has evasive skills. Really feel a lack of continuity is hurting him. He isn't a SOS player though and they will want to push Cuningham ahead of him so he needs to have some luck this year.

Welcome to BigFooty - you must be new around these parts.

Consider it a friendly reminder that cracking it already would reflect poorly on the cracker.
