Only Carlton cheats!![]()
Infuriating. Our (cheating) club gets destroyed for a decade. All the other (arguably worse) cheating clubs get a little slap on the wrist.

If we think there's any issues with his character, we wont take him, but it wont be on the basis of his ethnic background.
Petrevski-Seton has a very different personality to Yarran. Much more self-confident and assured.

I think it's a very even draft that bats very deep, but lacks the top end talent of last year.
I believe Darcy Parrish would have been a clear number 1 if he was in this year's draft.
This is some ignorant shit
You've seen one....you've seen them all. Right?
We've had plenty of players leave us/be shown the door for all sorts of 'cultural' reasons........yes, many non-indigenous players too.
Don't worry about your bias too much. Pretty sure SOS, Walker and co can do their jobs.
Just curious as to people's thoughts. Id be assuming Essendon are taking McGrath, but does anyone think Essendon should make GWS match on Setterfield first. If I was Essendon, id be doing that for sure. If I was the Lions, I would be forcing GCS to match a bid on Bowes too. It would certainly open up the draft a little more than has been predicted by many for a while now.
Yes, Walker has gone from a AFL football to an teenage indigenous carer overnight.
It's tuff for these kids living in Melb. How many indigenous players stay in Melb after their careers are finished. They really love it here ey.
I'm not doubting the talent. Just doubting the risk / reward factor.
Let another club havest his talent I'm sure another pick 5 will be better anyway way.
He's not that good compared to others like him. Why take the gamble.
Taranto or Brodie. The rest will be gone.
SPS seems to patchy for me in and out of games going by the stats. Plus a highlight reel is exactly that.
Oh and don't read the I want to play in Melbourne talk. Cause I find you 500 draftees that would say that if you can find me one that would say they don't want to play in Melb.

Can anyone advise how this draft is being touted compared to previous in terms of talent and depth?
knightmare did a similar thing and had the top 10 rated like this:I think it's a very even draft that bats very deep, but lacks the top end talent of last year.

knightmare did a similar thing and had the top 10 rated like this:
For a quick top 10 (of how they might feature to combine the two years)
1. Weitering
2. Schache
3. Mills
4. McCluggage
5. McGrath
6. Oliver
7. Setterfield
8. Ainsworth
9. Parish
10. Francis

They can't make GWS bid on Setterfield. They can bid, but then get stuck with him and miss out on McGrath. Not worth the risk unless they genuinely believe Setterfield is their best option.
Makes more sense for the Lions to bid on Bowes - top talent from QLD, no go-home factor, and they would happy to have him instead of Ainsworth etc. Would do us a favour too. Unless we prefer not to have to choose between SPS & Taranto.
Have a feeling that the name Charlie Curnow may find his way into that grouping.
No Brayden Sier?![]()

So if SPS interviews well, the club has confidence in its player retention program and especially so with Walker coming on and we really rate the talent higher than the next player, we say; "We'd like you but you were born in Halls Creek?" Is that it?![]()
That's a long bow to draw.
If he was a 10 out of 10 and another was a 9.95 out 10 and lived in Melb I'd take the money in the bank.
You're presuming just as much as I am. But difference is your bearing all the risk. That's my point why risk it at a Carlton. If we were a top 4 team then go for it.
Hey man great posting, definitely can't sense any indigenous angst. What if he does a yarran, jarrod o/Nichols, or Tambling.
What if games are cool.
SOS speaks
- 5 or 6 picks
- looks for competitiveness, running power, good decision making & skill execution in draftees
- good talent in an even draft, a little uncertainty at the top end
- strong midfield group early on
- all draftees will be at the club by Monday
