Anyone know why that is?
Is it by choice or he just wasn't deemed good enough?
Is there any reason why a kid would choose to play school footy over u16 for metro?
How many sons does Mil have because Max is supposedly only about 11 or 12.
Loved a couple in the second game, Mc Grath moves well, Venables hardness at the ball is inspiring and for next year Hayes looks the goods at 200cm already.

Really warming to Venables because he already has that ferocity at the ball and looks to have a solid frame. Has been compared to Petracca. Write ups class him as a forward that looks a likely inside mid and I saw that in the Allies game. Clean, strong, pace. I likey.
Question marks on effort and consistency from the chatter on the draft boards.
Has great moments, but then falls off. Might be a running pattern issue, or that he doesn't like to push as hard.
I haven't spotted the chatter. In the phantoms I have read, he is climbing quickly.
Just did a search. Has some high praise and seems a big moment sort of player. Then others say when he fades in and out, he might be this year's Laverde.
Well, he's already got a decent build so that's a plus and the fact that he rotates between forward and midfield means he is going to be out of the play a bit. Saw someone else say that they went to the Hall of Fame function and Venables was all the rage with clubs.
It will be interesting.

Stewart isn't a target for us. Taking his contract is potentially a way to get the others cheaper, much like Lamb and Sumner last year. He would also be depth for the rest of his contract. He looked good last year and GWS have an embarrassment of riches.
Jones has a year left on his contract. Jaksch perhaps about to get another run at senior football. McKay needs time. Gorringe isn't a pure forward. Charlie maybe a third tall. Silvagni a third tall. A year or two with Stewart won't hurt us. He will have made it or failed before McKay really hits his straps.
Trying to find the comments. I have been floating around the draft watchers since I joined BF (they were the reason), and I feel as though the info/opinion came from a reliable source. But if I can't find it, consider it retracted.
I don't understand how Stewart would be on a big contact, he would be on his 2nd contract after playing 4 games in his first 2 years. It just doesn't scream big signing and big contact. I could see Tomlinson having a big contact our of the GWS 4 but looking at the GWS list and player that might be on big coin and they could afford to lose are palmer, Hoskin- Elliot and Patton (a month ago Scully would be there but he resigned on a lot less coin. Is Stewart out of contact or does he have another year?
Tomlinson and WHE both have a year to run on decent money.I don't know his contract status. It is believed we took on a couple of contracts last year in the GWS trade which enabled us to get our real targets cheaper. Rumour mill suggests the same this year and Stewart is the most unlikely target of the 4.

The other boys are out of contract at season's end.
Sharenberg 25 touches and Graham played well for SA.
MaCluggage 3 goals Brodie 18 touches really good for Country.
All these guys would be very close to AA.
Kerr seems to play taller than both Silvagni & Curnow, which would mean he could potentially play as a KPF in the same forward line as either Silvagni or Curnow. Hopefully though Curnow will become the big bodied midfielder the club is wanting & if Kerr comes on board he could be in a forward line that includes McKay, Silvagni, Jaksch, Sumner & Lamb.I like the look of Patrick Kerr as well. Such a strong contested mark for a kid floating around the low 190s. Being grandson of a Blues legend helps as well. Not being touted in the top 30 that I can see and maybe being that in between size hurts him. Certainly with Silvagni and Charlie Curnow, I am not sure how we would use him either. Like the romanticism. Could we get him for a third rounder or will his good champs performances put him in second round territory?
I'm kind of cooling on the 4 player deal of late. Mostly because I am of the opinion, that of the 10 GWS players we trade for if this one goes through, only 3 will be walk up starts in the 22 and a few more thereabouts, but none in the first 8 players or so selected, and none elite. I think we needed incremental improvement in our 22 and have achieved that to an extent already but need to get some possible elite midfield talent.
Whilst the draft may be a lottery this year, I still like the idea of potentially nabbing elite talent so am labouring with indecision here.
Like Venables with our first pick or an elite inside mid with pace. Venables offers pace, scoreboard pressure, versatility, courage, foot skills and can go inside and has a good frame already.

He played quite well as an under age player in the latter part of last TAC Cup season. I'm surprised he hasn't figured more prominently in draft discussions. Perhaps mostly playing school footy this season has resulted in him being out of sight, out of mind.Kerr has been impressive in 2 games I have seen parts of in the champs and still isn't strongly in the conversation. Could be a steal if we want to capture some club history.
This is a midfielder's draft. The one thing we desperately need above all other requirements is elite midfielder's.
If we go down the GWS route we could consign ourselves to a lot longer than a 66 game rebuild it could be more like 166 games.
We must keep going to the draft.
