Midfieldes for Carlton
Forget Brodie McCluggage and SPS they won't be avilable at our pick.
1. Veneables. Goal kicking mid with turbo. Will be a beast in a few years.
2. Srimshaws. Really rate this kid. His tall 193cm has a beautiful left boot and his hands are very clean, which make me think inside mid could be a possiablity. Unlucky not to make AA IMO.
3. McGrath very classy player. With his running capabilities could be a gun outside mid.
4. Jordan Gallucci. Another goal kicking mid. Has a good balance between inside and outside game.
5. Dylan Clarke. Inside work is very good. Very similar to his older brother, but a more skillful and complete player.
Would add support around the stoppages for Crippa. IMO best clearance player in the draft besides Brodie.
Would be happy with any of these kids TBH.

Does anybody else get a bit of a Mitch Robinson vibe from Powell-Pepper?

Slight resemblance, seems aggressive, a bit bash and crash but disposal hit and miss.

Agreed on the Mitch Robinson comparison.

From everything the experts say the kid is highly intelligent and works on his craft like a man possessed n has genuine leadership qualities

So ... like Robinson, but not like Robinson?

Disagree... we will most likely finish with pick 4 and i would bet that Ainsworth goes top 3 allowing one of these three to slide.

Hard to see one of GC, Brisbane, Essendon or Fremantle going passed us. I think we'll end up with 5 or 6 in the draft, maybe as high as 7 or 8 with our last month of footy being solid chances for wins.

Even pick 5 then will have us in the frame for one of those. I actually believe Freo and GC will string a few on the back end of the season whereas im not so confident on our own chances.
We have exceeded all expectation so far but in my opinion a few of our stars are looking tired out there. They need help from the younger brigade which hasnt been readily available. I may be completely wrong and hopefully i am.

I wouldn't be so sure about that as their's a good chance we'll finish 14th giving us pick #5
The trick may be for someone to bid on Bowes forcing GC's hand and then we have only 4 picks before us, excluding any further bids on Academies..

Brodie would be the only player from that grouping that I can't see dropping from the top 3 and Freo will go for SPS? Maybe but no certainty.
The other thing is: Who would Brisbane take? Surely not someone that doesn't want to relocate..

I agree about Scrimshaw. Looked a beauty to me but I haven't watched him all year.

West Coast Eagles are not terrible and he showed no improvement.
They were in 2013 during Worsfold's last year. He played more games for West Coast than Kane Lucas has.

But the damage was already done and transitioning to a new club ain't easy - just ask Menzel and Yarran.

Srimshaws has had heaps of injuries over the last two years.
I think he may have only missed out on AA selection due to so many Vic players being selected.
There is a little bit of the Bont about Srimshaws.
Bont wasn't by any means dominant at champs in his draft year, but like Srimshaws showed plenty of flashes of the talent he had.
If he can finish the year strongly in TAC cup could be a top 5 pick.
Hope Marshall will have a strong finish to the year.
Think Essendon would seriously consider him to partner JoeyD.

Must say that I didn't see Robinson in SPP, but when I watch WA again i'll keep this in mind.

I just think a bull in a china shop that throws it onto the boot. Kicks it long because he has a powerful kick.
I would love to see him lower his eyes and hit a target.
Just something to show he has a softer side to his game.

Martin as a jnr was seriously a combination of strength and amazing kicking skills. I just don't see that with SPP.

You would have seen SPP more than what I have to be fair. I see Dustin Martin in him by the way he attacks the footy and hits the contest at speed. He even moves a bit like him IMO.

Why are you calling him Srimshaws?
A 193 classy ball using defender/wingman can be just what some clubs may need.

It wouldn't take much for a couple of the talls to come into contention over the course of the next couple of months and all of a sudden...things change.

Sorry it's Scrimshaw, just a brain fade.
I'm thinking he will go into the midfield at some point this year.
As I said his had a lot of injuries over the past two years, so fitness is probably holding him back ATM.

Essendon Brisbane and possibly Freo would all be interested in a quality key forward.
That would help our situation on draft day.

O.K. I thought there was an inside joke going on :)

Didn't get a lot of the ball on Wednesday but the talent was obvious and would make for a hard player to man up on.

Yep, Martin had more finesse.

SPP may not have that said about him ... ever.

Yeah wasn't his most prolific game.
From what I've seen over the champs, he has the all the tools to be a mid.
Clean hands, good in traffic can win contested ball around the ground, good below his knees and has a lovely long left boot.
Has draft bolter potential.

1st pick Venables please.

Hoping we can trade the 2x3rds for a second and then upgrade the 2nds for a mid first maybe....

Hoping Sympkin or Clarke available there.

Venables explosive, pace, big bodied, great skills. FULL OF MONGREL. Please and thanks.

Clarke great inside player, big strong would help Cripps. Sympkin classy HFF/Mid, fantastic skills, big bodied
Could be a massive steal!!

What would we get for :

Tuohy
Casboult
Everitt
Kreuzer

Yes I'm serious

Even if not advocating such trades it would be good to get people's thoughts on the trade value , if any, of the above

Tuohy - 15-25
Casboult - 15-30 (if you can sell him as a forward/ruck, his value goes up)
Everitt - 25-35
Kreuzer - 10-30 (depends on how clubs feel about his fitness and versatility)

I'd only trade the middle two.
