Knightmares comment on Jake Bradley -

"JakeBradley is a top-ager and has been good in the TAC Cup without dominating. He is 177cm and for me lacks a point of difference. He could be considered as a rookie but I see that as against the odds."
This is not too far off the mark. I would be surprised if the club drafted him at all this year. It wouldn't hurt to steer him towards the Northern Blues next season & keep an eye on him there.

We can take him as our last Cat A rookie pick if he makes it through the National Draft, so it's not completely off the cards, particularly if they like what they see as he trains at the club (presumably once or twice a week).

The nine most likely: the race for No.1

Can't see Scrimshaw being in this race along with McGrath, Ainsworth, Marshall or English.
Reckon it will come from the other 4, at this stage.
Interesting and shows our pick this year will definitely get a good kid.
On a needs basis we would not pick Scrimshaw but if he is a Bont clone can we ignore?

Will probably depend on who eventually has the #1 pick, particularly if Essendon has it and then trades it.
I actually think Brisbane will have it, and they'll take McCluggage.

I feel like Brodie and McCluggage will go 1 and 2. Then Freo will take SPS as he's a West Australian boy leaving us with Ainsworth. Ainsworth just seems like he'll be an absolute gun so I'm more than happy with that selection.

And a good reason not to trade away future picks. ;)

Trading future picks............not giving them away. :)

Next years crop is always better than the year before.
They may well be better but it doesn't mean we'll have access to 5 of the top 10

Just get the picks right and even if we don't get the best players, we'll be building the whole. That's what it's about.

I still thing GC will finish below us. Will they take Bowes leaving us Ainsworth?

Hoping Carlton get Ainsworth. Could use his class in the midfield.

Probably won't make it to us though

Ainsworth is a small forward, not a mid plus he is really small, Matty Wright size 179cm.

We aren't going to use #4 or #5 on a player of that ilk when we have more pressing needs to attend to.

If we are below GC and Brodie and McLuggage are taken we should definitely bid on Bowes, then bid on Settlerfield or whatever his name is. Then look at some of the other boys.

Why bid on Bowes & Setterfield unless it is purely tactical ??

It still seems unlikely a club would use the No.1 pick to bid on an academy player like Bowes, even if he's right up there among the best midfielders. Gold Coast will match it regardless as he's a quality, classy midfielder.

Ainsworth will play midfield as well. Capable of going inside.
