Amen.
To add to this I'd much rather have a 192-193 cm forward in the Jack Reiwoldt mold. Good leap quick off the mark etc.
Would love a specialist forward with Sumners speed
How about Sumner?

Gallucci looks to have some toe but has weak disposal on his left. He does some nice things but like many others in this draft, doesn't seem to scream out "draft me please".
For a better first rounder?
Because the gap between McLuggage/Brodie and the rest is huge.If we end up with #5 as most are predicting, I doubt we will do anything with it apart from using it to draft a player.
What's the point of trading out a player to move two spots up in the draft ??

Brodie & McLuggage are midfielders, as is SPS, the rest of the likely top 10 are either not midfielders or are Academy players.Reading the reviews, especially their supposed weaknesses and there isn't a standout in the whole player pool.
Don't see the point in trying to be clever when there is very little to be gained from it.
does it make much difference if we end up with pick 4 instead of pick 5 (in the event Gold Coast overtakes us on the ladder)? if the talent does drop off quickly and then evens out after first couple of picks, would it be worth leveraging pick 4 or 5 into 2 lower first round picks?Because the gap between McLuggage/Brodie and the rest is huge.
if we lose against the Hawks this weekend, questions will be asked. We should tank.

If st k win, the race for 8th is wide open.
The question on Charlie is can he win the ball at stoppages. Supposedly did for the Falcons but we have seen nothing yet to suggest he can play midfield at AFL level.makes Charlie Curnow a very exciting prospect, came third in the time trial (Ed won it). He is already an elite endurance runner. With the size and skills to do serious damage.
even if he doesn't play midfield, he'd be a tough matchup in the forward line with his gut running. Could probably blow up a few defenders with repeated leads and find space. The question on Charlie is can he win the ball at stoppages. Certainly has shown some good signs being a mobile forward. Was always going to be hard to know where he should go in the draft on the back of his interupted U18 season. Just hard to say he will be a midfielder, the fall back for every undersized KPF.even if he doesn't play midfield, he'd be a tough matchup in the forward line with his gut running. From what I have seen of him in the NAB cup games, I would rate him anywhere from the late teens (absolute need type pick) through to the late 20s. He can run and chase well and his disposal is something that can be worked on. If he has a bit of time, then his disposal is usually spot on.Looked good in the clinches and was able to fire out some good handball but he is another who's disposal by foot is poor.
Can't tell from that clip how quick he is chasing or trying to run away from an opponent either.
Doesn't scream out "draft me early", would like to see some more highlights though.
The fans in Brisbane would be dragging the staff at the paddlepops out into the street and stringing them up from the nearest light pole if they did a deal like that. It's too heavily weighted in our direction and they need some serious talent to come in to make them more competitive in the clinches. Can we trade into the top 2? **** Essendon, maybe any trade with Casboult to Brisbane could also include upgrading our pick #4 or #5 to pick #2.
Out: Pick #4, Casboult, 3rd Round
In: Pick #2, Brisbane 2nd Round (or less)
Something like that?
Would get us a guarenteed bite at either McLuggage or Brodie

SOS was one such person, but a variety of pundits have either floated that or pointed to someone who has.Ah I didn't know that.
Who said that?
Not critical of you, believe what you are saying, just interested to know more about this.
Surely the top group are still very good though?
Understand there is no 'once in a generation' player like Weiters. At least not yet.

He'll probably slide to the Hawks and they'll turn him into the best player of the draftAinsworth looks like he has good upper body definition but a guy of his height will really need that to survive.
Strong overhead and seems to know where the goals are but he badly sprayed the first two shots, one of them was a set from 20m out and he nearly missed the lot, there is an issue there that will need some urgent attention.
I really am struggling to get excited by this chap, there are players of his ilk every year in the draft so it's not like he is a one-off.

Ainsworth - 179cm (given his age, he may well still have a few cm left in him)
Just for comparison:
Barry Cable - 168cm
John Platten - 170cm
Bob Skilton - 171cm
Brent Harvey - 172cm
Tom Hafey - 173cm
Kevin Bartlett - 175cm
Greg Williams - 176cm
Darrel Baldock - 177cm
Leigh Matthews - 178cm
Daniel Kerr - 178cm
Ron Barassi - 179cm
Ben Cousins - 179cm
Paul Chapman - 179cm
Ian Stewart - 179cm
Sam Mitchell - 179cm
Wayne Johnson - 180cm
Luke Power - 180cm
Jack Steven - 180cm
Craig Bradley - 180cm
Marc Murphy - 180cm
Gavin Wanganeen - 181cm
Andrew McLeod - 181cm
Dylan Sheil - 182cm
Gary Ablett Jr - 182cm
Joel Selwood - 182cm
Rory Sloane - 183cm
Michael Voss - 183cm
Tom Rockliff - 183cm
Robbie Gray - 183cm
Yep, too small. Should be overlooked for a 195cm "athletic" type. Your obsession with height as the be all and end all of a players potential is as baffling as it is grossly inaccurate and frustrating.
The game has changed since Barry Cable played. We have a gun midfielder who would of played CHF in the old days, key position players are now taller again.
