I'd take him with our second round pick in a heartbeat.
If we end up with #5 as most are predicting, I doubt we will do anything with it apart from using it to draft a player.
What's the point of trading out a player to move two spots up in the draft ??

Reading the reviews, especially their supposed weaknesses and there isn't a standout in the whole player pool.
Don't see the point in trying to be clever when there is very little to be gained from it.

Brodie & McLuggage are midfielders, as is SPS, the rest of the likely top 10 are either not midfielders or are Academy players.
McGrath - not a mid
Venables - not a mid
Ainsworth - not a mid
Marshall - not a mid
Bowes - Academy
Setterfield - Academy
Perryman - Academy
Our draft position is awful at the moment, we'll either waste value by taking a mid we could of got at 10+ or take a flanker/forward pocket who we HOPE can become a mid but hasnt shown the consistency to be able to yet.
We move up, we guarentee ourselves a 200+ game midfielder.
does it make much difference if we end up with pick 4 instead of pick 5 (in the event Gold Coast overtakes us on the ladder)? if the talent does drop off quickly and then evens out after first couple of picks, would it be worth leveraging pick 4 or 5 into 2 lower first round picks?

I really hope they win it will spice up the season and will be hilarious if north miss the finals after starting 9-0 with Waite dropping off massively.
They're at worst 50-50 to win as well given their form at etihad and North still have a fir few injuries and the speed of the saints will really test them
even if he doesn't play midfield, he'd be a tough matchup in the forward line with his gut running. Could probably blow up a few defenders with repeated leads and find space.
Certainly has shown some good signs being a mobile forward. Was always going to be hard to know where he should go in the draft on the back of his interupted U18 season. Just hard to say he will be a midfielder, the fall back for every undersized KPF.

From what I have seen of him in the NAB cup games, I would rate him anywhere from the late teens (absolute need type pick) through to the late 20s. He can run and chase well and his disposal is something that can be worked on. If he has a bit of time, then his disposal is usually spot on.

The fans in Brisbane would be dragging the staff at the paddlepops out into the street and stringing them up from the nearest light pole if they did a deal like that. It's too heavily weighted in our direction and they need some serious talent to come in to make them more competitive in the clinches.

People can't expect a perfect player each draft, or for that matter players who are superstars. Most of the time you are going to have to settle for one good player, a few role players and that boom or bust prospect.
Or as I like to call them 1st round, 2nd and 3rd round and 4th and beyond.
He'll probably slide to the Hawks and they'll turn him into the best player of the draft

Yep, too small. Should be overlooked for a 195cm "athletic" type. Your obsession with height as the be all and end all of a players potential is as baffling as it is grossly inaccurate and frustrating.
The game has changed since Barry Cable played. We have a gun midfielder who would of played CHF in the old days, key position players are now taller again.
Granted, but overlooking quality for height is folly. Quality, skill, a good kid and above all a great footy brain is the only metric players should be measured on. Sure, if two player with just about the same qualities were presented to you, you'd take the bigger one every day. But a gun little fella over a big "athlete" well then you'd take the gun.
