Yup... top 5 material next year I reckon.

I didn't know he wasn't eligible when watching him and couldn't believe when no-one had him in their phantoms..........no mention. :)

Was probably one of the top 3 impressive players over four team that played. Looks to be an absolute gun. Maybe Joel Selwood like.

Needs to trim those sideburns though.

Somebody had to do it...

In case anyone interested, stumbled across this.

We’re confident he (Venables) will get drafted, and quite early,” Baker said.

“He is in a moon boot at the moment with bone stress to his foot. He won’t do the testing (at the combine) but he’s obviously one who was excellent in the national championships.”

Unless we're getting another pick in the top 15 we shouldnt be able to get Venables

Better not take him with #5

Better not take him at all.

Every player that people are talking about here (draft or trade) have a history of injuries or are currently injured.

What are we, the St.Johns Ambulance Football Club ??

I did the same, then I checked his age and found out that he was under-age this year and will only be eligible next year. Unless he is going to completely **** things up, he is bound for a top 5 pick easily and more than likely top 3.

Stringer. Burton.

Depends on value. If he slid to our second because people were concerned about the foot, he could be an absolute steal.

Same old sides win every year. Hawks keep being powerful now its through exploiting FA and yet the AFL do nothing to stop it.
Bemoaning the Hawks success is utter one-eyed nonsense. Why should they be punished for more than a decade of fantastic decision-making? They're reaping the rewards of setting up a brilliant and inclusive organisation from the CEO to the boot-studder. If Bolts achieves sustained success following this model will you be complaining?

Also, despite what some may believe, the Hawks have had a significant net loss (Franklin, Suckling etc) through free agency. Free agency, apart from the notable Frawley acquisition, has had little to do with their success. You could argue they'd be further ahead without it.

I think thats him... the bigger boys were brushing him off... but he could nail and stick a tackle. Thats one of the reasons I like Worpel for 2017... he played this year as an under-ager... and he was smashing them in tackles. Another 12 months and I reckon he is going to be very dangerous!
Don't know muxh about Worpel. Whats his ball use by foot like?

Good... tends to handball a lot... which is what caught my eye along with some really bone crunching tackles... but his delivery by foot was usually pretty good.

I knew the bigger names who were underagers, but while watching the Champs a few times i thought i had a smoky that for some reason wasn't being talked about.

The hyphen Darcy-Uniacke or whatever his name was. Really liked him, then found out he was not available this year.

I can't get the feeling out of my head that Venables is being hidden a bit. PEGS kid. Maybe it's because i just don't trust(admire a bit) Dodoro lol.

It's probably silly of me to think that but....

Venables has the Dangerfield feel but i realise only 1 in whatever who have the Dangerfield(insert other top player) feel actually become the next Dangerfield(insert other top player).

He would mightily tempt me as a recruiter, but you would need courage to strike with a Top 10 pick.

.....And then there's the tall blond forward Sam Hayes (?)

Looked like e very lively player to me and seemed to me to have the attributes to be a very high pick next year, also.

Really hope Ainsworth slips to us at pick 5
Andy Maher was talking him up yesterday on radio. Apparently a good chance to be there at 5, assuming we still have this pick.
I don't know anything about him but they were saying he is ready for AFL footy straight away.

is marchbank a true key defender? listed as 193cm. haven't seen much of him so not sure. a lot of people seem to be raving about him. hope he's worth it

Just about everybody on this forum is expecting Marchbank to be traded to us.
Reports in media this morning his manager is meeting with 3 clubs next week. If he was such a laydown misere, why would he do this, and not just nominate us outright?

Maybe we haven't settled on quite the right deal yet.
Maybe he and his manager want to be seen to be doing due diligence for GWS.
Maybe we just needed to be sure of what we have in order to do the deal.

You have to get all your ducks in line before just simply announcing that you're off to another club.
How would it look for Prestia, Richmond, Prestia's manager should something not pan out? They'd all look like amateurs.....and no-one wants to look....
