Father/daughter rule for the womens team would be fantastic Andy Carazzo gives us a head start already :p
You must like taking quoting people out of context because i believe i was talking about father/son Kerrs and that patrick should be available to us through the father/son rule .

There is a father/daughter rule already.

If the father has played 1 AFL game for the club, his daughters are ours via F/D

Quite often it's the players who miss the Championship squads who pick up the Morrish, because they get more games at TAC level. Last year Clayton Oliver won it, who didn't play champs. i think our boy Nick Graham won it, who didn't play champs. But it also can go to the bigger names, Kreuzer and Dyson Heppell are two higher draft picks who have collected the award. McLuggage must have had some sort of season to pick it up off limited games.

Graham played for Vic Country in his draft year mate.
FFS Sin City who am i pining for this year, only to declare our draft a massive fail when we don't get said player I've never even seen play???

(come on mate, it's kinda tradition now ;)

Pretty good draft at the top end Quazza. At this stage I have seven players that I'd be happy with for our first (Brodie, McLuggage, McGrath, Ainsworth, SPS, Venables, Marshall) and two academy boys (Bowes and Setterfield) so we will get a guy with elite potential there. The interesting part this year is what we do with trades, 2nd and 3rd rounders.
Folks around here were suggesting that *FC did it with Laverde, and then there's Wingard with GWS. I wouldn't discount that it happens.
People thought they did Essendon did it with Kavanagh too, turned out he just wasn't that good. I can tell you it's not the reason Laverde slid.

To how many games must our women's league players aspire in order to qualify for the Mother and Son rule?

Hopefully we can trade Levi for a late 2nd round pick which we can then use to pick up Patrick Kerr.. Would be a good in/out for list balance and he and Harry McCay can fight out for the spot at FF for the next decade.

What do you see in Venables, Sin?
I mean, it's easy enough to see the quality and potential upside, but does he find the ball enough.
Was the fact he's been injured for a part of the year put the brakes on him pushing out a full four quarters?

Must say that the others pretty much pick themselves, don't they?
Quality performances week in.....week out....except for Marshall but he is the tall amongst the mids here.

Speed, skill, size, strength. Ability both at half forward and in the midfield. Can win contested ball and do damage on the outside. Good hands in traffic but can also break away from a pack with his speed. Has the attributes to develop into a beast midfielder.

As far as performing week in week out Marshall kicked three goals in six of his eight games in the TAC Cup season. Very hard to spoil once he gets front position.

Have to mention though that these days I have no info on what their references or interviews are like. I only base this stuff on what I see on the field.

His highlights are as good as any's but I found myself looking for him all too often at Simmonds. Did a good thing and then disappeared.
I know one live game alone is a terribly small sample but I just didn't see him reading the ball well.................when I did see him. :)

Just getting the impression that he may be dividing people that have watched him a lot closer than I have.
The good is A-grade, but is there enough of it?

fairly sure they call that "draft tampering"
Very few clubs would be willing, I think, to take a chance on Kerr knowing the family history and the fact that after his first contract, he would be asking for a transfer to Carlton.

Will there be a father daughter rule and a mother son/daughter rule?
yes :)

I think that it's 1 game for the father/daughter rule. The mother/son/daughter stuff might have to be looked at later on.

Willem Drew - bolted in Knightmare's September Power Rankings to #10. Looks a great midfielder - bit of a stretch at 5, but if we were to either a) pick up a 2nd first rounder or b) trade down the order slightly, he'd be a great pickup.

Gosh darn it, I was hoping we'd pick him at 23.

Yes, take Marshall at #5 please if he is still available.

I'd be down with that if we can find another late first rounder. Grab a quality tall to partner up with McKay and SOS in the coming years, allowing Curnow to spend more time up the ground, then grab a couple of quality mids with a late first and early second (Drew, Clarke, Venables, Fisher, Powell-Pepper etc.).

If one of Brodie/McLuggage slide to us at 5, then we target a Batte or Kerr later in the draft instead.

Could we possibly take Marshall?
Of course it is possible but if we haven't any tall forwards in our sights for the next couple of years, do we go the tall early and mids later?

We could, but the thought makes me nervous.

I know good forwards go early, but I want our first pick to be as close to a sure thing as possible (don't get that feeling with him).

And there has been talk that he is only the best KPF prospect this year because the draft is light on for good KPF prospects...

It seems like there are 6-7 players which people would love Carlton to take with #5 (McCluggage, McGrath, Brodie, Ainsworth, SPS, Marshall) and a few that may attract interest from elsewhere (English from Freo, Scrimshaw) or are likely to be taken by the expansion clubs early (Bowes, Setterfield, Perryman).

I wouldn't be against trading down #5 to get back in to the later part of the 1st rd. As it stands that could be #5 down to #8 from the GWS or #9 from the GCS and trying to pry free #16/#17 from the GWS or #21/#22 from the GCS. When the academy selections are included then we would most likely STILL get a crack at one of the players which people want with our #5 pick and be able to access someone that would be gone by our 2nd. Something along the lines of

#5 and #23 for #8, #17 and a GWS player or two (Marchbank/Stewart/McKenna)

#5, #23 and #41 for #9, #21, #22 and #28 (4 spot downgrade on #5 for a 2 spot upgrade on #23, #22 clean and a 13 spot upgrade on #41). This would reduce the points for the GCS but they could, potentially, access Bowes BEFORE their 1st selection and use later picks for him.
