McGrath 29 possessions 6 tackles. Played midfield and used his run to really take the game on.
Scrimshaw 26 possession 12 handball recives kicked 1 goal
Clarke 24 possessions 8 clearances
Gallucci 19 possessions 1.4
Looks like there are a few inside clearances beast available in this years draft, I'd be disappointed if we couldn't land at least one of Brodie Clarke or Drew. Really need to bring in some support for Crippa.

It's not complicated, if somebody selects Bowes before GC at pick 4 then yes they will have to use pick 4 on him (if they want him). If nobody selects him they will use pick 4 on someone else.

Im probably showing my draft ignorance but from all the draft videos I've seen of this years crop the only one that really excites me / stands out to me is ainsworth everyone else in the top 10 throw a blanket over. Would be stoked to get him at 5 but I'm probably in the minority.

Yeah, Ainsworth gets me frisky. I see him as low risk / high reward. He could easily end up the best of the draft. Seems like he can go through the middle and will develop into that role, but also can dominate forward. He has shown he can change the course of a game by kicking a bag in a short time. He's that awkward height which straight away makes him hard to match up on. He's built like a brick shithouse. Shows a great deal of versatility. Very exciting prospect. Would be thrilled if we pick him.

Just watching those highlights it's pretty clear that Scrimshaw has all the traits to transition into a midfielder, has missed a heap of footy so most likely doesn't have the tank to play on ball ATM.
-Moves very well for a player @193cm always looks really balanced.
If clubs are confident that he will make it at AFL level as a mid, he could go as high as pick 2/3
-Looks really smooth when moving through heavy traffic with ball in hand.
-Hand are really clean, rarely fumbles and is also good at getting his arms up in the tackle and dishing off.
-Contested stuff, one on one work is very impressive.
-kicking skills are right up there with the best of the this years draft.

I'm thinking may be Brisbane they need a 190cm+ midfielder. Freo like there midfielders tall.
GCS (if Bowes hasn't been bid on yet) are also missing that 190cm midfielder.
Kid could definitely bolt into the top 5, if things go a certain way.

How so? Both players are very much risk/reward prospects (I'm leaning towards reward) but nothing suggests Marshall is soft. He sits under high balls, competes against multiple opponents and goes when it's his turn to go.

He's still skinny but his hands are vice-like and if he fills out he'll be a seriously tough match up and unlike gun junior forwards in Hawkins, Boyd and Patton he doesn't rely on his body size.

I'd prefer we take a gun onballer at our early pick, but if we've got multiple early selections, Marshall could seriously come into contention.

#5 Andrew McGrath– “Oooo ahhh Andy McGrath” was the call from the TAC Cup Radio guys. McGrath had plenty of agile steps going around the Eastern midfielders. Had 17 disposals by HT but was moved to shut off the dangerous Jaidyn Stephenson during the third term. He kept him goalless and finished with 29 disposals and seven clearances. Didn’t do his Top five stocks any harm

Really? Ainsworth has huge scope for improvement in my opinion. Only just started playing good midfield minutes and has dominated. Pretty professional sort of kid too, listened to him on the Road to Draft podcast and speaks well and seems to know what it takes.
I'm not the best judge for tall talent (I really didn't rate Cam McCarthy pre draft etc) but I agree with you on Marshall.

Ainsworth could be the best of the draft IMO. Powerful, good overhead, above average skills, ball winning ability and will only get better with a bigger tank.

I would think that based on his highlights that speed is a given, I am more interested in his endurance Vo2Max to see if the transition to the midfield is a reality or will he always just be a small forward.

Is it? Putting aside injuries, that's a 40% chance of getting a star (Daniher, Patton, May, Hawkins) and a 30% chance of getting a complete bust (Cornelius, McKinley, Panos). If McCartin and Boyd make it, it's even better.

I think all it tells you is that the recruiters know which ones are AFL capable and their draft position (or hypothetical position) reflects that.

Hawkins is the only one on the list you would consider a star, Patton has potential.. Daniher, Boyd & McCartin yet to prove it yet but dont have lines through them. It does appear though that they are either taken pick #1 or left alone and is proven for reason..

Sorry - was amending my post and probably agree with you re Boyd and McCartin. But May is a star, albeit in a different position and I'm happy to back Patton and Daniher. We would kill for either of them on our list.
