Yeah it absolutely would be a good idea.
Every champion side is built around two or three drafts. You simply dont build a champion side by trying to hit one player every year. It doesnt work.
We should be doing EVERYTHING we can to make 2015 and 2016 our two champion drafts in my opinion.
And Ben in 2018 makes that even better. Our 2018 1st simply must be traded out for a 2018 2nd and a player or some other benefit in 2017.
No matter how good Ben is, even if hes bid on top 3, we'll be able to get him, even if it costs us out 2nd, another 2nd and our third. It doesnt matter if in 2018 we only take Ben (possible top 10 prospect) and two picks in the 40's. Because by then, hopefully we will have taken 4xTop 20 picks in 2015, hopefully similar numbers in this years draft and maybe 2xTop 20 picks in 2017. Then add ben. That's 9-11 top 20 picks in four years. Add Cripps, Docherty, Marchbank, Plowman, Sumner, etc to that list, Tom Mitchell maybe... that's a champion team.
Sounds pretty good. But how do we bring in 3-4 top 20 picks in this year's draft as well as Mitchell and Marchbank?

SOS has been putting them in cotton wool for the few years leading up to their draft year, that's all I know.
