Judd's shoulder is also higher than Kerrs who's taller than Judd, because Judd is lifting his arms.

Taranto is listed as 186cm which is only 3cm shorter than Judd.

Kerr is only taller than Baldy because he has a melonhead.

*keep in mind this is not a completely serious conversation.

Tough decision indeed. We really can't lose with this pick unless, we trade pick 5 then I'd be very disenchanted with the Carlton football club.

I'm with you on that. I would be absolutely shattered if we trade pick #5. Would be a dreadful decision unless we get an outright young up coming star which I seriously doubt.

Surely we can't be that stupid to give it away especially only 2 years after the pick #7 debacle.

So we still wouldn't want Florent with our second?

No, didn't do much with the ball at all. Rather go with the guys that have performed the year through. Rather than a soft player who played one or two decent games at the end of the year, gone right off Galluci as well, would not go with either of them even with 4th rounders.

Wish they'd pass on their 2014 disaster draft onto someone else. We might get a chance to completely screw it up twice. They bombed even harder than we did.

Funny.

If we had a draft like they did in 2014 I would rank it as the third most successful draft in Carltons history. Possibly the second.

Marchbank and Steele are ticks, while Pickett and Ahern have been held back by unfortunate injuries. Ahern would've played plenty of AFL footy if he'd been drafted by us in his first year.

Florent & Gallucci to picks past the 60's :)

We'll see..........I guess.

I watched the game today and I was impressed with all players more particularly Taranto I'm warming to him with each time I see him he's got something about him u can't take ur eyes off him. Also impressed with Bolton. Either way Ainsworth scrimshaw Taranto etc will get a very good player. How do you choose and who do you choose. They're all good

SOS looked like he was really engrossed in watching the play, they cut to him so many times during the coverage.
Surely he can see that the top group of 7/8 players are to go to pass up on.

Really liked SPS game today, best I've seen him play this year. Very exciting talent can do all the flashy skilful things and has electric pace, but also gets in there and does the hard stuff. Today he tackled with some real intent too.

if we trade smartly, we could end up with two picks in the top 5 :D

I would prefer Shai Bolton over SPS personally...

Really. I'd like Bolton at Carlton, but I think SPS is a better prospect.
I think that SPS will be a bit like Rich... quickly reaching a plateau and then levelling out without much improvement after that. Bolton would take a bit longer to reach the same sort of level as SPS, but I feel that he would also have more long term growth and potential in him. And he can do all the things that SPS can do right now.

Do tell. I prefer if we just got marchbank and that's it and bundle up more picks
I said it earlier on the thread. We should be thinking of trading our 2017 first round pick (somewhere in the 3-6 range) for either pick 6 or pick 7. Someone else mentioned that we might want to consider trading it for pick 4. Bowes, I personally think, will be bid on in the first 3 picks and GC17 would just use pick 6 to cover that if we traded our pick for pick 4.

In the rumours thread, apparently Whoreforn are one of the two teams interested in pick 5 to on trade as part of a deal with another club... the other one being GWS. I wouldn't be trading pick 5 at all to help other clubs do deals. If Freo wants McCarthy and Lobb, then they can hand over pick 3 for those two and pick 15 or 16.

SPS has all the tools to dominate. Consistency is his biggest issue, if he can sort that out then whoever picks him will have an elite player.

If we could get pick #5, and #6 or #7 we can adress a lot of issues at our club. If we could nab #18, we're golden.

#5 - Rolls Royce Mid (SPS/Brodie, or if we're luck McLuggage/McGrath)
#6/7 - X-Factor Flanker/Mid (Taranto/Ainsworth/Scrimshaw)
#18 - Nuts n Bolts Mid (Drew, Powell-Pepper, Clarke..)

Pleaaaaaase

Some people must have been watching a different Bowes to me, I thought he was very average today.

McCluggage
Taranto
McGrath
Brodie
SPS
Ainsworth
Scrimshaw
Bowes
English
Setterfield
Rotham
Florent
Bolton
Gallucci
Battle
Perryman
Venables
Simpkin
Drew
Sproule

That would be my rough top 20 at the moment, give or take a player or two.

No Marshall in top 20. I'm going to almost guarantee his name gets called inside 15. He's better than sproule and battle.

I would be surprised if Marshall went in the top 15

Agree seen him play 2 games of late and yes not a great way to judge a player off 2 games of vision but looked average to me didnt get near it . Wouldnt be going after english in the top 20 either .

From the game, 3 guys stood out as being elite.

McCluggage
Taranto
SPS

Would love it if Taranto slid to us at pick 5

I do agree with Dramoth, Bolton really impressed. Think he may have booked himself a top 12 position. I believe he will perform very well at the draft camp too.
