Cant see GCS taking SPS. He has made more than enough noise about wanting to play in Melbourne. Makes no sense for GCS to pick him after all the talk about players leaving them for elsewhere to return to home states etc.
So a kid from WA is more likely to leave them for Melbourne than a kid actually from Melbourne?
Doesn't make much sense

My point is the kid from WA is making plenty of noise about wanting to play in Melbourne. Why would the GCS pick such a player, when they have done nothing but sook about players leaving them. I would be willing to be if SPS gets picked up by the GCS, he will look to leave the moment his contract is up. He wants to play in Melbourne. AS I said GCS picking him doesnt make sense, given what they have said over recent months.

"I'm hoping to go to Melbourne, which is the home of footy. That's where I'd go if I could choose," Petrevski-Seton told afl.com.au, apparently with the qualifier that he'd, of course, be happy to play for any club.

I imagine Taranto, Brodie, etc. would say something similar. If I were GC I'd consider someone from Melbourne to be more likely to walk out for a Melbourne club, of course that depends how they each interview.

Over on the draft board it sounds like Vanables and Marshall haven't been invited to the draft night while Galluci and Hayward have invites.

It might be that he knew he would go 4-7 in the draft and was trying to stop gcs picking him up so he's suggested he'd like to play in Melbourne thus getting him to Carlton or Fremantle and gcs won't take him at 4 or 6.

Sounds like Haywood is in Scotty Clayton's sights apparently.

I'll be fascinated to see where Gallucci goes. Personally not a fan. Hopefully, from my pov, it sounds like he'll be gone before 25.

Hearing WC are interested in Hayward. Agree with you regarding Gallucci, rate him late 2nd early third

They only invite the Top 10 possibles don't they? WC have #12.

Twomey mentioned GC have Hayward in the mix, so i would think that must be what has got him invited.

I think a few over and above the top 10 get invited, but wouldn't be surprised if Clayton used one of the 4 picks on him

They invite the top 15 or so to make sure they've got the top 10 covered.

I like to look for balance and needs in the phantom drafts on the D&T board.

I hadn't seen Bishop's since he updated it and he has a full phantom draft there now. Not a bad effort really.

For us (after bidding):

6 - Sam Petrevski- Seton - balanced mid
27 - Patrick Kerr - KPF
51 - Brodie Romensky - Utility
60 - Hamish Brayshaw - Inside mid/general forward
63 - Kym Lebois - Small forward
67 - Luke Bunker - Inside mid
81 - Tony Olango - Ruckman

There are some things I would like to do differently depending on who is available. Unsure on Romensky but he did play champs and for Williamstown and won a B&F at TAC level and he is a really nice mover. Just seems to be spending more time in the defensive half. I wouldn't be unhappy at that pick. Also unsure about the tapes for Brayshaw. If another inside mid of note fell that far, I would grab him.

Like the Lebois selection, not the least because of the way his name is pronounced - La Boss, but another indigenous kid would be welcome. With Pickett, SPS and Lebois, that gives us a little bit of diversity back but I also feel like we have lacked a bit of silk and spark since the Amigos left. These guys are smooth movers.

Love, love, love and love the Luke Bunker pick. I think I will cry if he falls that far and we don't pick him. Get him in a gym and then watch him go. His instincts at stoppages are fantastic and he works really hard.

Olango - a young athletic ruckman. It is the right thing to do. Please let's ...

Kerr - well I would take Zac Fisher if he is there (unless Venables is as well) but Kerr has probably played as a KPF more than Charlie Curnow or Harry McKay did. I'm not adverse to building some KPF options and the family connection is there. He is not a flight risk that's for sure.

This would be a good draft for us.

The other thing to consider is that when a Melbourne kid goes home, there'll be more clubs vying for his services. GWS have worked this brilliantly.

Great appraisal, agree with your thoughts, especially on Fisher or a potential slider at 25

im not to worried about who we get. seems to be out of taranto brodie or sps. im a scrimshaw fan but any of these guys would be a great get. nice to just sit back and see what happens. 4-5 picks from 25 onwards will be the interesting ones.

we know pick 5 will be a very good player. if we can get another 2-3 very good players in the draft it will make a big difference
