Don't think having a fan club is a good thing, Arr0w . Now you have to have mail-outs, meetings, appearances at shopping centres, merchandise.....they'll expect you to b a role-model for kids.........I've read about it.........are you up for it?

Rubbish.

Carlton have had fans for over 150 years and until recently they had bugger all mail outs, communication from the club, fan engagement or meetings....

Arr0w might have to organise sporadic fridge magnets and ill designed merchandise though...

I still laugh about when I received my membership pack (2010 i think!) and it had a Kangaroos scarf in it!

afl.com.au if you want to have a read.
The point I'm making is he plays in the midfield and and as a forward.
The reason he's only kicked 10 goals from 33 games is he is not a high possession player and tends to go missing for parts of the game.
I've never doubted how talented he is, I just think he's not a player that impacts the scoreboard enough and the CFC better suited to pick up Tarranto if the opportunity presents.
Now days players are a lot more likely to play multiple positions as clubs look for players with a few more strings to their bow and again Tarranto in my opinion has that flexibility and huge upside.
t-bird could play forward and back, why not get him back?

Hey guys, sorry for the intrusion. I was wondering how many selections you guys have to make on Friday night, based on list spots, etc. I'm doing a phantom draft and need this info.

For example North has to make 4 selections because we have 4 primary list spots open. Appreciate the help!

You can bank on 5 selections and we have 6 senior spots available

It's possible that we'll take all 6, but that may depend on what's on offer at that pick.

Interested in people's thoughts on taking Ainsworth if he slides to 5. Personally, I'd rather take a true midfielder.

What do you guys reckon?

i reckon he's a star and a steal at 25 but just my opinion

Reports on him are quite positive.

Multiple position player, athletic, excellent disposal by hand and by foot, strong contested mark, good below the knees and reads the play well.

Only knocks seem to be that he's too outside as he doesn't accumulate the contested footy and his tackling isn't where it should be, but he's a willing learner.

There's going to be players drafted in the third, fourth, and later rounds that will become very good players.
Jordan Ridley is certainly talented but has deficiencies as others do. Once drafted it comes down to the development of these kids which ultimately plays a big part of making or not, becoming elite or serviceable, and how much upside they have and whether they can reach it.
Let's just hope SOS and co have done their homework and make every pick count. I'm a believer that the club now has got its house in order and now begins the long process of getting the next 3 to 4 years of hitting the draft hard.

What situation may bring that about?

1. McGrath
2. McCluggage
3. SPS
4. Taranto ??????
No bids on Bowes or Setterfield.

Hard to say when we have little idea of the way SOS and co see things.
Can happen but somehow I just don't see Brisbane going SPS.

Rumours growing stronger of Taranto>GWS

1:McGrath
2:Taranto
3McClugage
4:SPS
5:Ainsworth

agree except I don't think he is too outside. does get involved. what i like is he is one of those players that seems to have time and is a one touch player. all very good players have these qualities. can't be taught. good on both sides and a very good decision maker. i just see huge potential and I can see him playing straight away

SPS at 5 & Ridley at 25 are two players we need and could play straight away

Knightmare in his phantom draft has Carlton taking Ridley at Pick #25

Emma Quayle had him at 23. Her comments below

23

Jordan Ridley

Utility

Height: 192cm

Weight: 80kg

One of the most flexible players in the draft, Ridley has already sampled most parts of the ground. His timing and balance are keys to his game, be it taking an intercept mark in defence, calmly passing the ball off or finding room to mark in the forward line. He doesn't lay a whole lot of tackles and needs at times to simply stay in games and keep involved, but he knows what to do in a contested marking situation, reads the play well and can be trusted to kick with precision.
