Is it really from 6pm? I was hoping for updates throughout the day.

Aph seems to thinks so. She says they are all locks.....so did we win the draft yet?
If all the phantoms are to be believed, the top 6 is a LOCK if clubs diligently do what everyone expects them to, and we will get SPS.

Well blow me down I must play football with you.https://afl*******************/2016/11/24/matt-balmers-2016-phantom-draft/
Has Hayward slipping through to our second pick.
Also has isaac cumming getting to the crows. Makes alot of sense. Isaac and Tex walker are north broken hill boys. I've played in prems with both.

That's pretty awesome, thanks for sharingSpoke to Brett Anderson, SEN Draft Expert, a little while ago who was kind enough to take my call off air.
Me: Will GWS be able to into deficit (using points from next years ND picks) to match bids on their academy players, given potential draft penalties pending for next year???
BA: It's a very good question to which I don't have a definitive answer for, but I suspect GWS were given a "heads-up" not to trade picks 15 & 37 for this year.
Me: Who will you be speaking to when you arrive in Sydney later this morning to find out???
BA: Gillon McLachlan or Mark Evans as Andrew Dillon is unlikely to be there. I'll be definitely doing some investigation when I get up there though.
Me: How many of the Academy boys do you think GWS will draft???
BA: Assuming that Essendon don't bid on Setterfield at #1, Setterfield, Perryman, Cumming & I think GWS may have made some commitment to Macreadie when they moved him to Sydney. Of course it depends where the bids come in, e.g. there's a rumour that Sydney may bid on Cumming with either #9 or #19. I think that Mutch gets to the open draft, Sproule gets to the open draft....and as do most if not all of the others. It will become very interesting though if they're unable to go into deficit and bids come early.
Me: How strong are the Phantom Drafts this year as to who you think will go where???
BA: Well for once the clubs are keeping their cards close to their chest. While Essendon will take either McGrath or McCluggage, with GWS it's much less clear. You could make a case for Taranto, Petrevski-Seton, McCluggage, McGrath, Ainsworth or even Bowes. Taranto could go as early as #2 or as late as #9. Whoever Essendon and more importantly GWS take at #2 will determine how the rest fall. Last year was easy because we had a full-blown rehearsal with the introduction of the new system so we knew who everyone was taking all the way out to #30 by the middle of the day.
Me: Know you're on the way to the airport so thanks for taking the call.
BA: Anytime and only too happy to answer peoples questions. Will definitely check out the "lay of the land" on your first question.
Good bloke Brett. Probably one of his busiest days of the year where everyone wants a piece of his time and he still found time to take my call off air on his way to the airport. Let's hope he gets a scoop on something no one else has asked about.
Busy working while keeping a keen eye on the boardHow are you har wood.
i think they have been following each other. It seems they all agree that what happens with one and two determines the rest.Anyone else find it funny that "Clubs are keeping everything close to their chest" and you could "throw a blanket over the top 8, and then the next 30" yet a lot of the phantom drafts from people ITK have a lot of similar picks happening.
Which was more fun?
Yep, listened to it live and had the same opinion, definitely let it slip.Dodo accidentally let slip that * would be taking McGrath at 1 on SEN this morning.
Was being asked does he pick best player, or best for their needs. He said best player. Then they were asking about McGrath. and his response was along the lines of "we certainly think he is the best player in the draft".
He tried to back track and say "the guy we have selected we believe is the best". But it was very obvious it was in reference to McGrath.
I feel Taranto being available to us hinged on * taking McLuggage.
Unless something quite unexpected happens in the next 3 picks it looks like SPS will be best available fit for us.
Could be mischievous.Yep, listened to it live and had the same opinion, definitely let it slip.
For our second round pick I want someone with a bit of mongrel in them and thats something i see in Drew and its something we have lacked since the departure of Robbo. Dont want a bully or coward who snipes, just a solid midfielder who puts his head over the footy hard with courage and will be the first to stand up for his team mates.
Cripps will cop all the attention from opponents so we are going to need a player that the opposition will know is coming for them if something happens

On Drew... some insights from the Rebels Talent Mgr and Head Coach as well as from himself.
Seems we might've gone cold on Brodie because we have Drew earmarked for 25 as projected. I recall hearing a bluemour a while back that we were keen on him, and zeeCFC has already predicted it so now it has to happen.
Good size (188cm), reasonably quick, excellent hands and is a solid accumulator, can play back (flexible), is a good overhead mark, is a noted goal-kicker and most importantly has a good attitude. Perfect type to accompany SPS at 5.
I think from what I'm reading looks most likely to be SPS and Drew. Wouldn't complain with Mutch at our 2ndWho are our first 2 picks.
Interesting question after 300 pages.Who are our first 2 picks.
We will all be considered racists if we do not take SPS according to some comments above. Not sure why the racists comments have come out as I think the comments I have read on here are focused on his talent and go home risk as a WA kid. This year several WA kids went home in the trade period. We almost lost Gibbs because he is from SA. We previously got Doc because he was from Vic. If we pick an interstate kid they have an additional risk attached. It'll be hilarious if we don't get SPS
