How many picks have they got in these rounds (1st, 2nd)? This year.
Have they loaded up.
If they have and lose them it's probably something the AFL can't stomach.
So I predict heel dragging by AFL and penalty for next year so they can plan for it best as possible for minimum impact.
That's exactly what will happen

Just checked my Foxtel guide to set it to record for Friday, and it said 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
Just check ....there are two shows on the Draft on Foxtel

1.
Starting 5.10pm AEST .....a panel discussion of draftees and what each club needs & may take

2. 6.30pm AEST the Draft "live" starts for a 3 hour duration

Might have to head to the pub Friday about 5.
Which foxtel channel is it on?

A couple of under appreciated things about Cox (just watched a lot more tapes of him today) - he's quite an under appreciated tackler and marker of the ball. Not just quick and a good kick.

Still think there's better options at 13 but I'm becoming more and more comfortable with it.
Look at his family history and the trouble he's had settling down in various locations ......HUGE risk

Like Quigley said, a club with a strong Indigenous welfare department should help him to settle easily. We have this. Also a great character and very determined, by all reports, he'll want to succeed

not at #13 though ......Angwin, Yarren ??? ......character is very high on selection criteria for the Crows .....we flat out refused to discuss Dusty Martin, so if there's the slightest ?? on a player in this even draft, the Crows will look at the other option

Seven players in the AFL 22 under 22 squad, suggests Ogilvie is doing an outstanding job.

In saying that, I'd rather we go with a relatively safe pick such as Berry/Florent/Simpkin or a slider than going for another speculative pick with our first rounder. Go nuts with the rest of the picks though.

It will be their second round pick only because "they were really helpful during the investigation plus they had protocols in place. Allen and Lambert went 'rogue' so it's not the Giants fault. However the AFL will not accept any breach of the itegrity of the AFL so will penalise the Giants their second pick in the draft. Note they traded for 2 and 15 deosnt count, so they will lose pick 34"

Is that cancelled out by the fact he moved on his own accord away from his family to another universe ( Melb) and actually thrived while doing it ?

Don't know the answer but just asking the question

Cox is certainly more level-headed than Yarran/Angwin, no question. Agree that he's very much a project, and taking him would be a big risk at 13 (there's many I would prefer over him), but he has the tools to become an absolute game-breaker. Seems to have plenty of room to grow. I wouldn't be too surprised if we picked him, now that I think about it.

It's enough of a concern, to judge Cedric Cox much more harshly not just on his footy talent, but his background

Bit like Powell-Pepper, who's also had a very tough upbringing ......the judging of these players is much much more that purely footy talent .......how will Powell-Pepper go transferring states, there many more questions with some of these players that we cannot ascertain from watching the U18 championships and video clips

You simply cannot say that unless you've interviewed him and know him personally ......

The talk again ramps a player up based on a media piece

Like Reid and Trigg ? ......so Adelaide Crows weren't really at fault and should have used the same defense??

From first glance, I can very confidently say Cox is more level-headed than Laurence Angwin.
Sorry you can't make a long distance casual observation like that

Would be hilarious for the lols and 122 pages of this thread if we went with a speculative pick. Player expected to go in the 30s gets taken by us with our first.

Apparently we were really defensive and tried to hide things, thus we were handed a harsh penalty. this is what the afl alluded to when they handed essedon back a pick at the end of the first roud during their 'sanctions'...until the club arked up when this was said and the afl said "oh, yeah, that's right, you were pretty helpful...but essendon still get a pick back"

Agree, deny, deny, deny - make them prove it, the afl aren't good at that

So the reporters that have spoken to Cox personally have gathered that he's a determined lad, wanting to succeed. Angwin was never that. If there was any risk in that regard, we'd be staying the hell away.

I'll believe those that have spoken to him fave to face, including reportedly the AFC.

A couple of days ago it was Brodie is gonna slide from the Top 5 and it was party time and now it's Cox a potential late 20's pick at 13... can Friday hurry up and get here!
Less excited this year as wel only have 1 pick in the first 2 rounds. low expectations

Angwin fooled all, including media, recruiters, and footy dept to get taken at #7 ......Yarren convinced Richmond just 12 months ago to part with #19

So a word to the wise .......believe in the action, not the words

Sorry you haven't convinced me one bit ......not saying what he's like one way or the other, simply because we don't know, and iam certainly not going to believe a PR Media piece

Media creates these chopping and changing of opinions .......BF posters sway with the breeze and start thinking media maybe right
