I'll be at a wedding, one I don't particularly want to be at. Hopefully I can find a way to watch some.
?? But I thought you got married last month?

:D

Watching Foxtel and posting OMGs on here.

All the best.

Saw him in the u18 GF looked above average but it was an u18 game. He didn't get MVP for the game. Still trying to work out how he is being touted as a midfielder apart looking like a skinny looking Fyfe, go to any year 12 class and there are 50 of those that look like a skinny Fyfe
Is this the kid that had 5 shots on goal in the first 20mins of the U18 GF and the bay's had to start double teaming him ?

Meanwhile your boy who you were adamant would be first SA kid picked and in 1st round looks like he will be taken 3rd round as predicted by me ( and others)

Let's not even begin on doedee

They can get picked where they like, by the way, it proves very little the only player to be picked 1st and actually been the best player in the entire draft was Nick Reiwoldt in the last 15 years. Its obvious its a bit of a lottery as we see the best players in the comp being Dangerfield and Fyfe not even being top 10 picks

As for Doedee only one of two that couldnt debut in his first year out of the first rounders, doesnt actually sound to good does it?

Don't you mean Danger wasn't a top 9 pick?

Hamish was talking about having 4-5 picks in the National Draft, and 2-3 in the Rookie Draft. I interpret that as meaning 4 selections is the "nominated rookie" option.

This only makes sense if Shaw is still on our list. With him listed we have 5 senior list vacancies, without him we have 6.

The AFL website shows us having 6 selections. This doesn't match up with what Hamish said on the radio.

I'm confused.

Haha, yeah me too a bit, hence why I reckon he was in complete drivel mode in attempts to not give anything up. The other thing is he talks about having his deepest list ever, but then if he only used 4 picks our final pick would be in the 60's which is hardly deeper than we've gone before.

First time in a bit he's had this many picks so I guess the 'list' is longer.

But yeah he's probably in BS mode.

It's so obvious the deficiencies in our list a bunch of amateurs can see it

If the recruiting manager can't we are in a whole world of mediocrity coming our way

The recruiting manager isn't tasked with drafting (at least in the national draft) to fill specific needs though. He's tasked with bringing in the best possible player he can when it's our turn to pick.

Great get a full back then

Is this where we are going wrong and the reason we have an enormous hole in the mid that stands out like dogs balls

Not sure Emma's doing one this year??
That's how 90% of the phantom drafts from the 'experts' come about. Rumours they hear, copying each other, guess work and a small part from their own evaluations.

Even those that take an active interest in following junior players are still usually regular journalists most of the time. They might go to some junior carnivals and check out the draft combine, but actual scouts are doing this full-time, their assessments will vary.

Wonder if shes serious?

I was just reading that its one of the most up in the air drafts ever. She seems to get the good oil from the recruiters each year and gets pretty close to the top 20 or so on draft eve. If she doesnt do one this year, then thats a bit soft IMO.

Vader I want to run this by you.
We know that if the Club runs with a list of 39 and 5 rookies they can upgrade a Cat A rookie at any time, But can they upgrade a Cat B rookie, as that would effectively give them 40 plus 5 Cat A rookies
During the year yes they can with an LTI but I don't believe they can in this case. I unsure but the AFL rules tend to point that way.
So I believe they are planning on a list of 38 with 5 rookies leaving a spot for a Cat B upgrade. or a list of 39 with 4 rookies
Which would explain Hamish mentioning only using 4-5 picks?
