Wishful thinking and then some Brodie slips through to Pick 13, would be one of the most monumental downgrades in the history of the National Draft, as a midfielder he's probably the most "pure" mid in this draft at this stage of his development, has both an inside and outside game, explosive speed from the contest, runs both ways...only very slight knock is his footskills, can tend to rush his disposal at time. He's a genuine GUN and certain to play AFL in his first year. Cal's usually around the mark but Brodie is zero chance at getting through to Pick 13 IMO, think Cal might have been rushed to beat a deadline for the article or something because that isn't happening.
Wouldn't completely rule it out bicks. Brodie is kind of close to the finish d product and guys like Taranto scrimshaw and Hayward have come with a rush late and clubs may decide they have more upside

Brodie is a very solid player with mature body , only averaged 20d's exactly in TAC cup however and no better at end of year than start , in fact prob the other way

I'd doubt he'd be there but you never know , surely we'd take him

IMO don't think this is Lyons form of recruiting ........4 year projects string beans .....he's more for the ready made type of player or who have a shorter development

I'll be amazed if English goes to Freo in the draft ......i've said English wouldn't go first round, but that was b4 Gold Coast accumulated 4 first round picks ......they're probably the ones who'll gamble with one of the 4 picks

Start taking that picture of YOUR arse then.:D:D

I'm just not seeing it, IF he was there some clubs before our pick will have FU big time IMO. At 13 of course we take him but I'd be 99% sure it won't happening.

Can see why you're thinking Goodes for Logue... but if you're doing that, don't tell me off for my Berry/Hodge comment ;) :p
you will see if you review my post .....i said a "touch" of Goodes ;):p

We wouldn't have that much luck, surely!
With 4 picks .....just couldn't see Brodie getting past all 4 Gold Coast picks ???

Agree with this , we are tougher nowadays but lack ruthless edge of those guys
Is that Attitude, Experience, or Personality Inherent?

BTW i actually prefer Venables over Brodie .....just a personal opinion

I know it's only a few games & we're splitting hairs ....but Brodie makes really good decisions, but i'm not sure he has the pace Bicks talks about .....has seemed to be closed in on by opposition players as he's about dispose

Venables:
1. Has pace to actually put space on an opponent

2. Has strength to break tackles ......but same for Brodie

3. doesn't lose his feet in the contest

4. Very good overhead ...good contested mark

5. Has maybe more positional flexibility than Brodie

6. Injuries have not allowed Venables to shine as much as Brodie ......but IMO has the bigger upside

Very much similar to the Seed, IMO, like him as a prospect but do we need him?

Actually Seedsman surprised me quite a bit with his willingness at the contest as I'd always thought of him as very outside....Williams whilst he has good pace and reasonable skills on what I've seen he's the very embodiment of "outside" and at least 2 years away from an AFL body........Project player

Pretty sure you just described Seedsman as an 18yo. Was a very raw lad IIRC - as is Josh. Reckon (with the right mindset) Williams, when he puts on muscle, could be able to become willing in the guts just as much as Seed?

GWS face loss of draft picks over Lachie Whitfield affair

Greater Western Sydney stand to lose early draft picks as well as star player Lachie Whitfield as part of the final damning conclusion to the 18-month drug saga.

It is understood the AFL is looking to strip the club of two early draft picks, possibly a first and second-round selection in national draft on November 25, with the cases against Whitfield and two former club officials likely to be ratified at the AFL Commission meeting early next week

Has us taking Venables, Jamie Hampton and Ben Jarman.

I'm not sure if they're just guessing on Jamie since he's Curtly's brother as is already in SA playing footy. Can't really find any information on him at all.

Everyone is guessing so don't accuse them only, no club in their right mind would tell anyone their drafting plans unless they were stupid.

in fact their could be some leaks which are false in an effort to encourage clubs to take players and leave others. That's what I would be doing to ensure the player I wanted was still their at my pick

Pick Me: Can Marshall be the main man?
DOES your club need a forward? Todd Marshall has some AFL recruiters thinking he could end up the best player in this year’s draft. WATCH HIS HIGHLIGHTS.
