Essendon - McGrath
GWS - Ainsworth
Brisbane - Mcclugage
GC - Taranto
GWS - Setterfield ( matched bid from Carlton)
Carlton - SPS
GC- Scrimshaw
Freo - Logue (or English)
GC - Hayward
GC- Bowes ( bid on by Sydney)
Sydney - Venables ( or Logue )
North - Florent
West Coast - Brodie
Adelaide - Perryman ( not matched by GWS )
Port - Witherden
Brisbane - Berry
Port - Marshall
Western Bulldogs - ? Need to research them

That IMO hinges on someone bidding on Bowes and GC's attitude to SPS .....if GC don't have to take Bowes at #4 then i expect they'll take SPS ....if GC don't, every possibility Carlton do take Petrevski-Seton
I reckon Carlton will go for SPS, lot of smoke around it. They need some pure X-Factor and class. Reckon Taranto will be liked more than SPS by GC, they need an elite inside type.

Just be careful .....Taranto is a one paced player that reads the game exceptionally well ....bit like Melbourne's Brayshaw, but without the tackling skills & defensive pressure .....may have it a bit more difficult in the seniors
He's an amazing tackler WW - research that part to his game , it's elite

His strengths - elite overhead , elite tackler , elite ball winner , agility , goal kicker

Weaknesses - speed , kicking is ok but minor technical flaws

Taranto is certainly a good tackler.

IMO he's the most complete prospect in this draft

If I was GC I'd be taking Berry at one of their picks, god knows they need leadership, strong character and someone to show them elite preparation...all of which they are lacking massively.
Yeah fair enough ... Good for Brisbane I'm thinking too and I've put him down for them

Simpkin to Bullies, IMO

Taranto is certainly a good tackler.

As an U18 .....this is the danger in drafting .....drafting, form v talent v upside

Think we can be deceived by excellent U18 form, when others have had issues (injury, growth spurts, skinny) that haven't allowed them to show their best, but their talent is undeniable

This can be ...clean hands, holding feet, ego (i look for a strut) ...and decision making
We don't need to be seeing 40 possessions to form an opinion

IMO Taranto reminds me a lot of how Paul Ahern played

He's not quick , a real footballer however . Can play anywhere too
IMO too much of the same .......mid height and slow

Plays more off HB .....Venables that goal kicking mid that the Crows have traditionally liked

I like venables ability forward ( not many of our mids have that )
I like Brodie's size ( not many of our mids have that )

As long as we draft a mid with talent and a point of difference I'll be happy
Currently none of our centre squad mids have forward ability.

Brodie is that solid, dependable player who you'll get a very good performance out of every week.

Taranto has talent without doubt. His hands for a mid are absolutely elite. Combine this with his agility to weave around packs, his ability to accumulate, goal sense and contested nature, both offensively and defensively - makes him such a great prospect IMO. Nothing like Paul Ahern, I reckon.

Yeah it doesn't quite sit right but if Venables is gone I'm not sure we take Berry or SPP but we could . Don't think we take Simpkin , maybe Galluci for his spread ? Another solid character too

Maybe Lipinski? Not ruling that out

He's chosen Ahern because he can point to Ahern not making it yet but he's conveniently ignored the injuries. Very predictable.

Taranto has plenty of upside WW - coming off a very sharp improvement curve so more to come and looking at his elite traits v weaknesses he certainly stacks up

Will end up a good size for a mid but hasn't been bullying kids around through being bigger than them , just a smarter footballer

Ps Ahern is mainly injury related . SOS messed some picks up at GwS but not really Ahern , think he would have been something by now

QUOTE SAM LANDSBERGER
Athletic defender Griffin Logue appears set to be taken inside the top 10, despite his surprise omission from Champion Data’s top 30 power rankings.

The Swans are fans of Logue and are likely to also consider Jy Simpkin at their first pick.

Clubs still do not know what Essendon plans to do at No.1 and there has rarely been such uncertainty over the draft just 10 days out.

Inside midfielder Will Brodie, once in the No.1 conversation, could suddenly fall outside the top 10.

The Blues are Brodie fans, but would be unlikely to pair him with superstar Patrick Cripps.

Should Brodie slip, a club such as North Melbourne or Adelaide would walk away with a draft steal. Brodie trained at the Kangaroos last pre-season.

North has been linked to classy midfielder Oliver Florent, who is expected to stay in Victoria.

If the Roos don’t take Florent he could wind up a gem for the Western Bulldogs (No.18), Essendon (20) or St Kilda (23).

West Australian Tim English is considered the best ruck prospect in some time and could go to Fremantle, if the Suns don’t pounce first.
