So those that have watched him, is Brodie anything like Cripps?
Big inside mids - yes in that regard

Cripps is more polished with ball handling and skill level IMO , Cripps better overhead

I think Brodie will end up a better runner once he's in the system and get more outside ball eventually

Brodie is a work horse and Cripps a little more blue chip IMO

Can't see why they can't play together so I think it will be who Carlton rates higher out of him , SPS , Hayward , Scrimshaw etc

Yeah it doesn't quite sit right but if Venables is gone I'm not sure we take Berry or SPP but we could . Don't think we take Simpkin , maybe Galluci for his spread ? Another solid character too

Maybe Lipinski? Not ruling that out
Doubt Powell-Pepper goes to us, not a Crows type pick .....can't articulate what that means though, call it a gut feel then ........Simpkin i agree, would doubt

IMO Galluci looks and plays like Douglas ......so can see him being picked, but don't think that player type is a need to be honest

I definitely think Galluci type is a need to sharpen up our spread in midfield but just not sure he's good enough for that pick

Would rather stick to Milera and Knight as similar types and bring in s better player

I think you're right re SPP but I wouldn't mind him as he smashes in and adds X factor but think you're right

Lipinski a chance as smoky ? Good size and ball handling composure is good . Not sure on his kicking . Can play forward which is important

Really think Lipinski is a #43 opportunity ......not a first round

Interesting that Galluci is one of the 15 invited to the Draft night ....so someone is keen

FWIW I can still see Berry as very much in the mix.

Reckon at this stage it'll be one of him, Venables or possibly Brodie or Gallucci

Same, I only think Haggis surprised us last year because we had no later picks. We rated Doedee highly, and thus took him. If we had a 2nd, I reckon we would have waited a bit longer.

Too bloody right, going to be some real good prospects still available in the 2nd round....there is a reason Clubs were clamoring to get back into the early rounds

Agree so much, I'm on record saying a while back that we will really regret trading for both Seed and Hampton.

I would be happy if we go with a solidly-built midfielder that isn't overly quick or slow, or necessary elite in any one field but is a genuine, 2-way B+ Grade player. We kind of just need a player that can fill a gap and is ready to contribute within their first season or two.

Would rather go for a 'safe option' player like this, than on a riskier player that may have a higher ceiling (or be a massive flop). What player would that be for this draft?
So what you're saying is you'd rather have an Ebert than a Dangerfield?

I've posted b4 about pre-draft bio's and comments being very favourable to players not considered highly ranked .......yet we see top 20 player profiles riddled with negatives

This guy for #43 has been pricking my curiosity ??? ......the positives are great, the negatives not that much???

QUOTE: Knightmares 2016 Draft Almanac
27. Brodie Romensky (VIC)
Best position:
Inside midfield/general defence
Height, weight: 189cm, 88kg
Recruited from: Western Jets
Plays like: Jack Macrae
Projected draft range: late/rookie
Rated last month: Unrated
Rationale behind ranking/change of ranking: Has been on the fringe of many draft boards throughout the season and sneaks into this top 30 as a few others drop down.
Strengths:
- Movement through traffic
- Evasiveness
- Agility
- Wins first possession at stoppages
- Wins a high proportion of possessions in the contest
- Gets to every contest
- Tackling
- Size and strength
- Run and carry
- Intercept marking
- Reading of the flight
- Production
- Excellent both through the midfield and off half back
- Consistency of performance (named in bests 12 of 15 games for Western)
Weaknesses:
- Inconsistent footskills
- Scoreboard impact through midfield limited
- At height could be a greater contested marking threat

Ah, so I've convinced you WW ;)

Would be quite fine with taking Romensky at 43, but at this stage I feel well be able to get him later than that, say at 67.

Didn't realise you were keen on Romensky?
