It's certainly been a tough time to be a Bombers supporter.

The membership figure as at Sunday 17th January 2016 is 41,021

I renewed in December, but signed up all the Essendon supporters in my family (with their permission, of course) in the last week.

Gil said the other day that there's something like 3/4 of a million Essendon supporters, so its not surprising if more than 60,000 of them end up signing up this year. Although I've also heard of opposition supporters buying one-off memberships as a show of support.

Nah. It'll be more late uptakes of membership this year will be down.

Depending on how many of the 12 come back in 2017, their return could actually be spun into something to be an incentive to return as members.

Even if they are down a little early in 2017 everybody will get on board when we start the season 5-0.

After being at the MCG last night and seeing India fans in full flight, I'm glad the club is trying to tap into the Indian community. Their passion and energy towards sport is great and they certainly would add to the membership numbers quite handsomely.

Managed to move our Silver Membership seats from the pocket to just right of centre wing at both Etihad and the G so we were pretty happy with that. I spoke with them on Thursday and at that stage they'd apparently had 1500 sign up since the CAS decision and only 50-60 cancellations. The supporters have done such a great job over the past few seasons to ensure the club doesn't completely fall apart. I personally think the club could be doing a little more to acknowledge or reward our loyalty. 10% off memberships or 50% off merch to a certain value or something along those lines would be a nice gesture.

When the minimum membership costs $50 there simply isn't an excuse.

if you tell me you cant afford $50 a season but can afford an internet connection to tell me you cant than I call bullshit.
