The fixture gets released on the 29th Oct. If it's like last year they will have a few selective 'leaks' in the coming weeks so I thought we could do with a thread for it.

Finishing in the top 6 again means:

We will play 2 or 3 of these teams twice.
Hawks
West Coast
Freo
North
Swans
Adelaide

We will play 1 or 2 of these teams twice.
Richmond
Bulldogs
Port
Geelong
GWS
Collingwood

We will play 0 or 1 of these teams twice.
Melbourne
St Kilda
Essendon
Gold Coast
Brisbane
Carlton

Anybody want to take a guess who we will double up against.

Twice: Port, Adelaide, West Coast, North, Saints.
Trips to Launceston, Sydney and the Gold Coast as usual. Only Richmond and Dees at the G.

Double up against Hawks (Tassie) Eagles and Adelaide.
Double up against Richmond and Geelong
Everyone else once...with away games at Sydney ,North(Tassie), Collingwood, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Carlton.
Two games at the G - Richmond and Collingwood - with Eddie cracking up cos of our crowd for one of their home games!

It should be standard lock-it-in stuff that Freo and WCE either play Adelaide and Port twice every year - OR - (at the bear minimum) Freo and WCE both play in Adelaide twice (if it can only be worked to play one of those teams twice). Surely consideration and accommodations have to be made so that the Perth-Adelaide trip (which is our shortest, but still long) gets accommodated twice. I'm pretty sure this occurred in 2015 as Freo definitely played in Adelaide twice - like I said. This should be standard.

My 5 double ups would be

WCE
Adelaide (both top 8 teams)
Port
GWS (just for the curiosity that we still haven't played an away game against them)
North Melbourne (unlikely to get Hawks twice - as they will almost certainly double up vs the Eagles)

This will be ours, with the possibility of Tigers being swapped with Hawks. Absolutely screwed over in other words

EDIT: or GC for hawks since i doubt we will get a bottom 6 selection due to finishing top

I thought each top six team's double-ups would be: 3 vs top 6, 1 vs mid 6, 1 vs bottom 6...? Or is it more flexible than that? Most things the AwFL do are "flexible" - i.e. they do what they want.

Anyway, I think we'll get WCE, North, Adelaide, Geelong, Melbourne.

Would love six games in Melbourne (Geevegas can gagf) to justify the membership to the Family Treasurer.

2 or 3 against top 6
1 or 2 against mid 6
0 or 1 against bottom 6

Thanks! I re-read the OP just after my post.

Oh well, looking forward to getting shafted when the fixture comes out - at least our last game should be at home.

What odds on Rd 23 being our home Derby "so WCE don't have to travel on the eve of finals"?

And what odds on us being fixtured on a Sunday in R22 at Etihad so we end up with a six-day break in Rd 23 while Hawthorn play R22 at the 'G on a Friday night?

Can't wait.

We haven't played Giants in Sydeney so we get swans here and Giants in Sydeney.
We alternate playing With The Slime playing 1st game away our turn in 2016. Also we usually play in Adelaide once in 2015 it was twice. We have been to Gold Coast last two yrs but avoided going to Brisbane in 2015. We have also been to Geeeeeelong last two yrs mite dodge it in 2016.

Prefer finishing top 6 and playing the best than getting ahead of oneself (finishing bottom 6) and playing the hacks .

My bet is
teams twice
West Coast
Adelaide
North Melb (away in Tassie )
Sydney
Western Bulldogs

Of the rest
Melbourne in Darwin
Hawthorn at Subi
GWS away
Richmond MCG ( our only game on the MCG for the season )
Brisbane (on the GABBA)
Port away
Adelaide at Subi
Gold Coast at Subi
St Kilda at Subi
Collingwood at Subi
Essendon at Subi
Gelong at Skill'd

can see us playing gws in Sydney for the 1st time, wouldn't mind making the road trip up from melb.
we will definitely get hawks in Launceston as they will make there 1 trip a year to perth to face west coast in a grand final rematch
we will get a match in either gold coast/Brisbane or Darwin
we will get 5 games in melb, 2 at the G, 3 at Etihad
and a match against Adelaide as one of our double ups
and for good measure our yearly trip to geelong

which leaves us with 12 games at home
twice against west coast
the other teams to come to perth
norf, Sydney, gold coast/Brisbane, Essendon, carlton, port, Melbourne, Richmond, Adelaide and bulldogs

Our double ups will be
Adelaide
Norf
Bulldogs
Essendon
West Coast

Overall my feelings is this will be about the fairest of draws we get and yet still feels like we are being shafted

Decent chance we play Port away.

IMO it will be

GC vs Adelaide
Port vs Freo
North vs Essendon

for the remaining three matches.
Which gives a decent chance to play Port twice, not good for us IMO

EDIT: can see us playing GC too for the Bennell factor
Doubt we will get Bombers/Norf
Also doubt the showdown first up so your prediction is probably spot on.
