Analysis 2016 Fixture

The league varies the fixture marginally year to year.

Last year: North, Port, West Coast, Richmond, Melbourne.

We'll get at least 3 the same. Good chance of some of the usual subjects; Adelaide, Geelong, Brisbane.

Pretty happy we have a harder oppenent first up. Just like with Port last year Ross is going to spend all summer dissecting their gameplan. Also hopefully we will have a fully fit and firing team. :)
RTB puts a huge emphasis on winning game 1(as he should).his record for game 1 wins is excellent and 2016 shouldn't be any different. Port power were the the "it" side playing the stun and run down the corridor fell apart in 2015. Can the Bulldogs take their game to another level which will be required because the other 17 will be denying them the corridor.

Don't think we've ever beaten a Ross Lyon coached team in regular season either.

I think I'll be having a nice early rest on Thursday.

Indeed. Does the AFL ever learn? I'm sick of watching Carlton get flogged on Thursday and Friday night games. Teams should have to earn the important games, not get by on the fact the game is historically a "blockbuster".

The same goes with all the Mother's Day and Anzac Day crap with Essendon and Melbourne. Sure, if both teams are legitimate top eight sides then go nuts. But if they're playing rubbish and are down the ladder, give the game to a top side. The likes of Richmond, Hawthorn, Bulldogs, Adelaide and the WA sides should have the important games next season.

Yep, reward the teams, rather than feeding them blockbusters that they don't deserve. Carlton finished last and yet again they're opening the season.

Another game with a free kick count running to 20 to 4 against us no doubt

So sad to be reminded of this..part of my off season therapy has been to relegate facts like this to some distant memory

I so want our powers that be to make representation at the highest level to sort this out once and for all. We all know which umps shaft us...surely the AFL cannot continue to keep on turning a blind eye... said with absolutely NO confidence at all :(

Would love a trip to Hobart or GWS, even Canberra wouldn't be bad.

Hawks x2 (MCG)
West Coast x2
North (Hobart)
Swans (Subi)
Adelaide (Adelaide Oval)
Richmond (MCG)
Bulldogs (Etihad)
Port x2
Geelong (Subiaco)
GWS (Skoda)
Collingwood x2
Melbourne (Subiaco)
St Kilda (Subiaco)
Essendon (Etihad)
Gold Coast (Subiaco)
Brisbane (Gabba)
Carlton (Subiaco)

So three games at the MCG, Bombers at Etihad which is rare, first time ever in Hobart (right?) and western Sydney, plus no trip to Geelong (it's getting a bit 'been there, done that' now). Gabba instead of the usual visit to Metricon, plus the almost-mandatory June School Holiday clash against the Tiges.

Keep it about the fixture thanks. What SA does on the main board isn't relevant to discussion on the Freo board.

wut?

He opens us up to ridicule by every troll on BF and it can't be discussed here?

If we attempt to discuss it within the thread itself we get rubbed out.

Ask Peppy on his return from a 2 week holiday.

Silent Alarm did a campaigner act. Pure and simple.

You're misunderstanding me, I just don't want to see that shit in this thread when we already have a thread specifically for those tiffs.

my solution to the 6 day break for teams heading into the finals, have 2 floating rounds at the end of the season, eg round 21 a finals team can play there last sunday game, than in round 22 they have the option of playing on the Saturday than the AFL can go nuts in round 23 and roster the finalists on Friday nights if they want.

But this is the AFL we are talking about they will do everything to give us 15 sunday twilight games 1 Friday night game and a couple of other awful time slots and screw us over

Vic clubs especially Eddiewood don't like Sunday twilight. Their suggestion is play them in WA to take advantage of the time difference.

Doesn't matter if we like it or not the Vics like it so it's done.

I think later matches on Friday and Saturday nights starting 7.30 WA time are better. They start when the matches finish over east.
