Verstappen ignores team orders. Will be interesting to hear why and wether the team will say anything.
To be fair he was told "don't hold up Daniel" not "let him pass". Was more a case of telling him not to spend time and energy defending if a move came. Ultimately though Ricciardo got to within about half a second of Verstappen but then dropped off. Max was faster for most the race, and had every right to hold his position.

No luck for Daniel, got a great start but held up by the Mercs who were slow off the grid which allowed Verstappen to get along side him then Rosberg re-entering as he did meant Verstappen got position on him, he had the pace on Verstappen (who was holding him up for mine) at that point but was never going to get past unless Verstappen was told to move.

I think the thing that really cost him in the end was Seb passing him, Seb dived up the inside and locked up forcing Dan wide, cost him 1-2 secs and in the end that is what cost him position behind Kimi, his race was ruined from there, Kimi put him back in the lap of faster cars whilst Max was able to drive his own race in clear air.

Admittedly he made a mistake locking up under pressure from Bottas but at the end of the day the Bulls just didn't have to race pace or ability to pass on the track against the Merc powered engines, Verstappen drove a solid race and defended well against Rosberg but don't think he was any faster than Dan on the day, it just seemed to fall into place for him.

Daniel clearly has his measure in 1 lap pace but Verstappen is certainly more competitive with race pace, Dan due a little bit of luck I would think as nothing has gone his way this year.

Take the win out and it is historically one of Dans worst tracks so I think he just forgets this one and moves on, interesting to see if the Red Bulls are competitive next week, despite the upgrade it would appear they are still going to struggle on the power tracks.

I actually think Dan had more pace early was just unlucky to get behind Max at the start, however I don't think he was that much faster that Max had to move out of the way so no issues there.

Dan then got unlucky with Seb passing him, he locked up and pushed Dan wide, cost him 1-2 secs.

Their pace for the rest of the race is inconclusive as Dan was camped behind Kimi who was slow whilst Max was out in clear air doing as he pleased, don't think his pace was particularly strong given how quick Bottas and Rosberg were catching him once Kimi was out of the way.

Dan was then put onto 17 lap old softs whilst Max had the ultra softs.

To be honest not a great race for either driver, some brilliant defending by Max on Rosberg but the Bulls just didn't have the pace, hopefully more competitive next week.

Well, at least Bottas podium'ed it.

Some consolation.
