What are peoples thoughts on Ben Kennedy? (Melb)
Coming from Collingwood, would be a nice pick up at 187k. Never been a good scorer but no sub rule helps.
Similar price as Cockatoo, showed similar scoring ability but in a much worse team.
So far I have Martin, Dahl, Barlow, Greene, Kennedy and Kerridge.

My post was simply some conflicting information, as a opposed to the Greene love that thrives in this thread.
Just to add, those teams I quoted had experienced players all ahead of him. None of those rookies were selected either.
The general consensus seems that he has poor disposal. Perhaps that's why he spent more time up forward?

His NAB will be very interesting to see.

Oh and your second sentence contradicts your first. I get your point though! :thumbsu:

It wasn't just poor foot skills, but by my observations it was amazing just how many times Greene couldn't even hit a team mate with a handball when he played in the midfield. It's like he has no idea or feel as to how to weight a handball to the advantage of his team mates. Might have something to do with him being a really aggressive campaigner, but he would fist the shit out of the ball even if his team mate was only a metre away, causing necessary turnovers. I didn't see many GWS game last year, so not sure if he still does that.

I'm with the big Kadog.

He's not even a certainty to play in GWS fans eyes. Take a look at some of these quotes from the GWS board.

Not much faith there.

Earn his spot. Think about that for a second.

Wow.

This team from a GWS board moderator.

Hardly inspires me to pick him. CalSinc the better choice, as he's R1/2 with Tippett, and guaranteed games.
That's not really surprising - Greene had a poor season last year so naturally GWS supporters would be questioning his place in the team.

Team boards can be helpful and there are posters with inside info but for the most part it's simply the opinion of emotionally invested individuals.

FWIW I'm not on the Green bandwagon.

True.

I use those boards for just a little more info. Sometimes you have to read 100 posts or more to find one piece of juicy info.

Team boards have nothing on us, we are the experts! ;):p

We're all here for info, no matter how small, how opinionated, or how disagreeable it is! :D

Yeah I understand your point too. I didn't mean that their opinions don't matter, just that I wouldn't be ruling him out as an option based on what you read over there. The concerns about his disposals are justified. In the Match Sim video on their website I noted that he was playing midfield and was matched up on Ward, which is a probably a good sign. It could also mean he might be being used as a tagger, but NAB will hopefully make it a bit clearer.

Mid tagger would probably be his best position/role.

Quiz: In which category did Greene record the below statistical rankings over the last 4 years?

24th, 15th, 8th & 5th

Can Jesse Hogan improve on his 78 point average over 20 games in his first season. Not a bad first up effort. Second year blues a factor?
At this stage wouldn't select him. 5 tons last year and a high of 128 was exceptional for a debut season. On top of the 78 average. I see him going bigger this year but as a young key forward is likely to have a few down weeks. Could be good POD but I'm not brave enough at this point.

I like him at the price. With the sub rule gone it'll help him. However quiet a few around here saying he'll be no good and poor disposal will cost him. At this stage he's on my watchlist and in my current team that'll change another 50 times.

If you win more of the ball you generally do a fair few clangers. Mitchell was in the top 5 last year and it's fair to say he uses the ball amazingly. I agree though that Greene is a big risk. I actually don't like anyone below Barlow in the forward line of locks. Feel Buddy will miss a few games and Greene/Smith/Harvey just aren't going to crack the 100 average we are after. Sinclair may be one I'll look at but then is he a keeper? I doubt it.

Toby played every single game last year, averaging 25 disposals in the forward line of a bottom eight side and now he can't get a game. :drunk:

Everyone mentioned has half the inside game he has to replace Treloar. His DE was 69% last year and although he had a heap of clangers he had no more than Jelwood.

Even Crazy Vossy wouldn't leave Greene in the seconds.

Jarryd Lyons>>>>>>Kennedy

Hows Lyons' preseason been? Awkwardly priced at 242k.

Not sure but Douglas was speaking highly of him. 23 y/o inside mid, played the last 7 games last year. He will make you 200k. If he plays round 1 then I don't see him getting dropped.

He will make you 200k.
Are you saying Lyons will go 90+? Because that's what he would need to average over the first 10 to make that kind of money. We're talking Tyson 2014 sort of numbers here.

Excluding sub games he's pretty much gone 75 over the past three years. Where's the extra 15ppg coming from in your opinion?

22.8 disposals, actually not 25. Only kicking 15 goals as a forward.

Think I'd rather take a punt on C Sinclair, more upside.

Don't get me wrong, Greene could* average 105+ if he plays in the guts for the whole season and averages 30 possies, but I just can't see him getting that role since GWS have so many other better ball users. If he plays midfield this year, it will probably be as a tagger. In which case 90 would be a best case scenario.

I like Sinclair but unless he posts some big numbers in Nab I'm not going there. Would rather go without both if them.
A.Hall and S.Grey the two other possibilities.

He looks heavy on that pic. Not good if he's got foot problems.
File photo. That's not a 2016 training top. He's looking great. "Managed" just means going easy in some of the contact and tackling drills.

He will play midfield not forward this time
