what are people's thoughts on christensen from BL this year? i've never really watched alot of him but have the impression of high expectations re ability since early on at the cats.
I'm a big fan of AC. Has had back problems but managed to play a lot of footy last year. Very clever footballer, good around goals, excellent disposal, not sure how much mid time though at Brizzy. Could be an interesting POD in forward line.

yeah i envisage him playing high half forward and rolling through the middle at times but i am not sure if that is anywhere near the mark. if it is i reckon he could be good value this year having settled in.

Buddy dominated the swans intra. Now it's a pretty easy gig getting a kick on Michael Talia, but still, good signs.

Might have to get him in.

If he has a pre-season with no bad news, surely have to pick him? 470k for a guy who has averaged 100+ 4 times and under 90 just 2 times in the last 9 years...decent risk, but high reward, and I'd rather take the risk on Buddy than someone like Bennell.

He is an enigma wrapped in a riddle.

I really feel for the big fella, and the issues he's dealing with. However these things just get 'managed', and never really go away.
Based on that, I just cannot consider him in my pre-season team.

In saying that, he will now play 22 games and average 110. FMSC. :(

Bennell's niggles are worrisome, but if he was fully fit, I'd back him to turn around his off-season dramas into on-field form.

FWIW I don't have him.

In saying that, he will now play 22 games and average 115. FMSC again. :(

Buddy's a big no for me.
More than a few issues with him, Sydney, Tippett more time in the forward line, terrible price (Greene same price has averaged 100+ also) just no.

Realistically, how many forwards will average 100 this year? (If I've left anyone out lemme know)

I'm thinking:

Most likely:
Deledio
Martin
Montagna

Likely:
Dahlhaus
Bennell

Maybe:
Wingard
Zorko
Buddy
Barlow
Greene
Harvey
Roughead

Unlikely:
Gunston
Christensen
Motlop

I think Greene, Barlow and Franklin are actually well priced and worth considering.

Montagna definitely in the "most likely" list also

Zorko and Greene, (especially at Greenes price) are likey to go 95-105. Im looking at Greene closely.
Barlow just gained more competition. Franklin too risky.
The Chad will go nuts. Soooo much class. :rainbow: locked.

Agreed he makes me extremely nervous, especially with Polec back.

Polec and Wingard play in very much different positions. What makes you think Polec will make Wingards score drop? He is no lock for me by any means but he is certainly on my radar

Polec is a outside winger who dreams about kicking goals.
Wingard is a goal kickin mother who also gets to play at the ruckmans feet.

Does no Monfries effect Wingard's midfield time this year? I'm thinking 2014 when he had far call midfield time because was forced to play a lot closer to goal and a 79SC average.

Just less points to go around? I'm not drawing off anything substantial.
He had an awesome year last year 15 times over 90 points, up and down the year before though, I remember @juddmagic going postal, ha, ha. By the way where is JM I miss him?

Hmmm good point. Although Jake Neade is still aorund. Hopefully he can make Monfries spot his.

Also people keep note that this would allow Sam Grey a spot in the 22 as I see him next in line after breaking out late last year. Terrible price but worth a watch during NAB cup.

Keeping in mind he was 20 that year he was up and down. He's a gun.

If Chad is closer to goal it'll mean he will kick 45+ and still find the ball regardless. IMO Krakouer should play Monfries' role. Before Krakouer got drafted back to pafc he played some forward time to good success in the sanfl (grand final kicked about 4). He did swing fwd last year and kick a couple goals. Chad to play normal position of rotation and Krakouer (for mine) taking Gus' role as the defensive fwd.

Sgray's on my watch list, even at the awkward price. If he plays a mayor role in the midfield rotations this year, that could also affect Chad's midfield minutes.
