Reference the Red Carpet. That " Everyone" is broken down into what the genders are looking at. As a woman I'm looking at the dresses, the hairstyles, shoes etc and men are possibly looking at everything else but !!
I HATE the red carpet. It continues this demeaning "ranking" behaviour (again, from both sides). That the women fall over themselves to be seen on it in barely anything, is another topic again. Brownlow night should be about the players... the fairest and best (at football). I saw a terrific interview by a feminazi (not that I like feminazi's, just that I liked her interviews) - she was asking the partners what their latest career challenge was. No mention of who dressed them or how long it took them to get ready.

The world is just so fricking "hollywood" shallow, it's sad.

Hypothetical, can two clubs trade a Free Agent if they choose to? Eg, Nth Melbourne want to keep the compensation pick they get for Wells, but if they take Hendo, they lose it. Could they then trade for Hendo instead and keep the compo pick? Just trying to think of scenarios as they appear to be holding off on Hendo and free agency?

Just a thought, not sure if they are allowed to do it anyway.

They can. Port did it in the year that they signed Monfries. Were due to lose Chaplin & Pearce via FA so they traded their second or third round pick from memory to Essendon to keep their compo intact.

Pretty sure it was the same year Essendon acquired Goddard so they weren't going to get compo for Monfries. So it was a smart move by all parties.

I just don't see how it couldn't be. The salary cap is only $10m and you'll have Tex, Sloane, Jenkins, Eddie, Gibbs and Rockliff all on decent coin. That's got to be like... at least $4-5m there. How do you fit another 35 blokes under the cap with $5m?
I agree there's no way we can afford both. We have about 4 or 5 players still uncontracted so i imagine we're already planning some yearly pay break-down juggling as it is. Scott Thompson has reportedly gone from a decent wage to peanuts however.

Apparently Peter Schwab said on SEN this morning that Rocky will meet with Fagan today, and that they told Petroro a decision could be made that they part ways, or stay.

Reckon he's gone

Yes it's happened a couple times afaik. We traded for Pods when he was a FA but mostly to just get it done using a pick we'll never use.

I just can't see BL coming out and whacking Rocky so hard yesterday unless they were planning to let him go.

Yes, but it would mean that the Kangaroos have to trade a better pick than the Crows would get as compensation for Henderson. I guess if Hendo is worth an end of 2nd round then the Kangas 2nd round pick would do it. But does that leave them in a better position? I reckon Wells' age would count against him attracting a 1st round compensation pick. But I suppose if it does somehow end up being an end of 1st round pick then the Kangas would probably rather take that and give up their 2nd round for Hendo, which would leave both clubs better off.

Realistic ways, I mean - the only players that will be traded, if at all, will be Lyons/CEY/Grigg. Lyons will fetch a pick in the 20's (which could be used if paired with something else). CEY will fetch a late 2nd/early 3rd, Grigg will attract a 3rd/4th. If we get Gibbs, though, I reckon we'll have to part with the Lyons pick in that deal as well as a first.

So the only realistic way is through giving up our first, whilst getting something else along with Rockliff.
I agree that those are the only Adelaide players likely to be traded.

I think you're over-rating CEY and Grigg by about a round. i.e. CEY = 3rd/4th, Grigg 4th/5th (and more likely to be taken as a DFA).

It might be worth trading Grigg and Lyons and retaining cey. Lyons has more trade value but I think that cey could still end up the better player.
Grigg has no trade currency. He is out of contract and will be a delisted free agent so that clubs would not want to give up anything for him.

Lyons is someone with some genuine trade currency. If he can get us a 2nd round draft pick I would trade him. CEY provides something different in the midfield in terms of mix.

Agreed, as I said before. If Brisbane genuinely sack Rockliff for this triviality alone, and he genuinely wants to stay, then he would have an excellent case for unfair dismissal, IMO.

I hate the red carpet for ANY event ... but some people love 'em. Some love watching it, some love being on it. You can check as far back as you like, and people are being judged against some "standard" for how they look.

I personally don't have a problem with the practice of rating someone's looks, what I want my girls to understand is that is counts for nothing. Some bloke saying you are a "3" for looks is really more of an indicator of his personality than anything else. I don't spend much time with my girls telling them how to control others behaviour - more time is spent making sure they understand that they have all the power as to how they feel about something.

"Hollywood Shallow" will always be around. A beautiful woman / man walks into the room ... there aren't many situations where that doesn't cause attention to turn.

As far as Rocky goes, it is funny that we scream when he judges someone in a rude and unfair way ... but we are happy to call out every part of his life without really knowing anything about him. We call footballers soft / gutless / useless / moron and much worse things than 3/10. It's funny when someone makes fun of Ling's looks, or someone comes back from off-season fat etc...

Mistake was that Rockliff didn't seem to understand that saying it publicly was a bad idea, I think we should forgive him that and move along.

PS - oh yeah, I checked with my wife and apparently I am a 10 - which really surprised me. I mean what are the chances of two 10s meeting and getting married ??? Amaze-balls.
