Hi all,

Games are done for another year so let's count votes and crown our MVP.



Round 1 votes - Geelong v Hawthorn
Round 2 votes - GWS v Geelong
Round 3 votes - Geelong v Brisbane
Round 4 votes - Essendon v Geelong
Round 5 votes - Port Adelaide v Geelong
Round 6 votes - Geelong v Gold Coast
Round 7 votes - Geelong v West Coast
Round 8 votes - Adelaide v Geelong
Round 9 votes - Collingwod v Geelong
Round 10 votes - Carlton v Geelong
Round 11 votes - Geelong v GWS
Round 12 votes - Geelong v North Melbourne
Round 13 votes - Western Bulldogs v Geelong
Round 14 votes - St.Kilda v Geelong
Round 16 votes - Geelong v Sydney
Round 17 votes - Fremantle v Geelong
Round 18 votes - Geelong v Adelaide

Steps are pretty straight forward.

1. Post in thread pledging to count a round and specify what round. Do this by copying and pasting the list of matches and assigning yourself a round. Next poster copy and pastes the previous poster and adds his/her round and so on.
2.Download and save the googledrive spreadsheet

3.Use the list of rounds above, which are links to the MVP threads to access votes to find your round of voting.

4. Only count votes that adhere to the 5-4-3-2-1 format.
5. After counting each posters votes the 'Raw total' tab should automatically update votes for each player. At the completion of vote counting PM dazbroncos and myself with the results in full.
e.g Selwood 56 Dangerfield 40 Bartel 5 Taylor 22 etc etc.
NOTE: If doing more than 1 round just send one PM with all votes collected.

**Lastly the MVP format**

The 3 players for each match with the most votes will be awarded 3-2-1 accordingly. Most votes after all games are counted is the Geelong Board MVP.

Happy to do round 1 and the qualifying final as beating Hawthorn is the bestest fun.

Doctor Gero I downloaded the spreadsheet but the Raw votes column didn't seem to update. #computersaidno

And maybe it would speed the process if Danger and Joel were moved to the top of the spreadsheet :D

Firstly, I'm interested to see how close our top 10 is to that of B&F.
Secondly I offered to do this myself. Was told to share and let everyone contribute.

Before voting commences can I suggest the 3-2-1 votes system gets changed to a 5-4-3-2-1 or a 7-6-5-4-3-2-1 System or even a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 system. Otherwise it doesn't give mid ranged players a chance to poll votes, The top 10 wont be that interesting when we have the 6 to 10th players polling between 1 and 6 votes. The higher the better. If we use the 10 system and we have less than 10 players poll we don't award points on the lower end.

I guess for comparison It wouldn't take me long to do both in truth (privately). Happy to go with whatever is more accurate. Just know this was the system used in the past.

I've done the finals just finalizing the the voting system

The voting system is 5-4-3-2-1 as it has always been.
nah, what used to happen when SJ did this was that we added up all the votes.
Eg. Danger 50, Sel 55 Boris 40 Linc 12 etc
You end up with all players ranked by votes.
Most votes would get the 3 votes (Selwood). 2nd the 2 (danger) and 3rd the 1 (boris). Most of these votes is the winner.

In a way it was a democratically voted Brownlow style vote. What that did was eliminate errors which can be borne out of inconsistent number of voters per game. This is largely going to be moot for the winner but it can distort the results.

What lana is suggesting is to broaden the range of affixed votes based of aggregate numbers.

I'm not necessarily. Lana made a suggestion, I'm not so arrogant as to merely dismiss it under the premise that my way is better.
I'm happy with whatever is easiest/most accurate.
