I don't know what was going through his head at the time, but it was either a sign of arrogance or extreme nerves IMO. Either way, I don't think he handled the pressure well at all.
He kicked the sealer in a grand final from a shot with far greater difficulty, different scenario after the siren but he should have had enough exposure to pressure situations to handle nerves. It looked to me like a bit of a lapse in concentration if anything.

Hawthorn were literally gifted an uncontested game tonight and still blew it. We should play invigorated against the Giants knowing how much harder we've had to work than the Hawks and still finished above them. Also not scared of Geelong. They were fair-weather for huge chunks of this game and against a better team would have lost.

Also, I'm a good person. I've rescued stranded dogs from being put down and donated to good causes like World Vision and Telethon. But i was in some kind of alternate heaven as i watched a pub full of Hawks fans sink in their chairs as Smith's kick went wide. Their tears made the last three years worth it

odds out for next weekend:

Hawforn 1.45
Braves 2.80

I thought it would be a bit closer than that...
I'll take the Dogs 1-39 thanks.

Last night would have taken a lot out of Hawthorn, whereas the Dogs have an extra days break from a game that was over with a quarter to go.

To distract us all from the pre-game nerves...

Does anyone give North a chance of losing by less than 10 goals tonight?
If Scott adapts and places a player or two half a kick behind crows last player then maybe.

So Scott would need tactically adjust. No chance.
