I agree, McVeigh should have won it ;)
As Buddy is sledged by Boofhead over his mental health issues (on World Suicide Prevention Day) the skipper of the year is at the edge of the pack pointing to one of his own players as Buddys team mates remonstrate with Boofhead. Its almost Churchillian.

Seen that a few times, maybe someone can point him towards Driver Av. No problems with Walker winning it after what's happened in the last year at the crows. If we were to lose I would be hoping the Crows get up.

Did Walker really win best captain? Onfield performance mustn't have much to do with it...he's basically been a decoy all year.
2 goals a game, playing as high up the ground as he has been, with Betts & Jenkins scoring as heavily as they did, is a pretty decent return, I would've thought. Leading goal assists per game, 4th for score involvements.

It was a great CHF's season.

It was alright, but a 'great' CHF season would have you in the All-Aus squad of 40 and probably in the team...didn't see his name mentioned once anywhere to be stiff as missing out on either. It's clearly a popularity contest and largely irrelevant anyway but you'd have Selwood, Ward, Riewoldt, Pendlebury ahead of him I would have thought.

Was it that good a CHF season? At least Franklin and Lynch are ahead, probably Reiwoldt too. That is 3 already.
Lynch was more of a FF, imo. Riewoldt a winger.

With Walker, I'm talking about a traditional CHF - leading high up the ground, taking marks, setting up play as much as kicking goals. Great might be overstating it, but he was very solid.

Low-key still over here barracking for either Pendles or Nick Reiwoldt. I know Pendlebury had an average season by his standards, but an average season for him literally ****'s on just about every other player in the AFL still. Ridiculously skillful and that Collingwood midfield was a rotating door of injured blokes coming in and going out, and he just performed every week with support really only from Treloar.

And the Saints would have been cooked without Reiwoldt. Didn't really have one bad game this year.

Even tho it's differing circumstances, Roughead still falls under the umbrella of injured/ill player. If all goes well, which we all hope, he'll be back soon and will have hopefully only spent two seasons out of the game. Which is still only half of what AJ has missed.
