Been on many boards.

The one golden rule for all board members is to leave the place in a better place than you arrived. Or at the very least don't leave it worse off.

I would say Mr Little has Failed - capitalised deliberately.
Yep. Now is better than never but these two men have along with numerous others turned that club into charred remains of what it was not too long ago. Fifteen years ago this was the best club in the AFL. Not a long time in the context of the club's history.

The question now is who would want to occupy the coaching role or chairman role? Someone who loves the club will step up for the chairman role for the prestige and passion of the club and the hero moniker they might get for pulling them out of this dirge. But I can only imagine the most interested coaches for the head spot wouldbe those at the club already who have an emotional stake in the players and club. Egan, Bassett, Harvey, Craig. It's a very unstable position particularly for those not already there

Got to say, it's great timing for people moving clubs this season, but f****** terrible for us with the trade ban. Average salary is going north, even spuds will be expecting 350000, and the AFL won't re-calculate the average salary until after this years trade period when the data is in.

But for guys like Dangerfield.... holy moly. watch what offers he gets now.

The next CBA won't begin until 2017 so the cap won't jump significantly until then.

Joey, Reid, Rohan 2017 Free Agents. Nice timing for them.

Maybe we should target Fyfe in 2017. Throw a ten year deal at him as an FU to everyone.

Should prob delete this post. The Commission is watching and will assume I'm serious.

So just on the TV deal: the rights are increasing by 67%. If the salary cap increases at the same amount, it'll go from 10.9 million to 18.2 million.

So Buddy's 1.1 millon a year goes from being basically 10% of the cap to being 6% of the cap, which is the equivalent of a player earning $650k today.

Very similar to Alistair Lynch's 10 year deal. Seemed ridiculous at the time, then 10 years later was a bargain.

Hird got what he deserved in the end but wow, has there ever been a person in our game who's reputation took such a massive fall? It's amazing how someone so highly regarded and respected throughout the AFL community could become so despised in such a short amount of time. Even if he'd actively tried to destroy his own reputation I don't think he could have achieved better results.

The AFLPA wants a fixed share of 'revenue'. I guess it will come down to what is classified as revenue?

But if they target 25% (where they're hovering) a lift will ocvur for sure.

Good question. I always hated him though.
