I was referring to the extended free trial for the bloke who was too tight to pay for it..

The $20 bucks is worth it just to use the team picker 1 month before SC opens for everyone else.

But it also gives you projected scores (which I like even if they are meaningless) and a few other things during the season doesn't it? I only recently got rid of my ridiculous hun subscription that was like $350 a year that I only used for SC scores! So I don't have gold currently.

Yep same here -got rid of the $350 a year HUN subscription (what a waste of money that was) and paid just $20 for SC Gold instead. You gotta have SC Gold just for the green, orange & red lighty thing next to a players name after teams are named. Very easy to accidentally start a player on the field that isn't actually playing without it.

In the "players" tab on the left hand side. Says that the most popular players will be published on the completion of round 1
