Thoughts on getting Hamish Hartlett seems to be stagnating at Port, has a very good boot could be Josh Hunt type of player and give an extra avenue to forward line and wouldnt be a worth a first round

Would have thought early second rd pick would get the job done and he would be on around $450k mark would rather extra mid then another tall
Port would laugh in our face, and then his manager would laugh in our face, he is contracted for 2016 and would be on more than 450k a year. How would you feel if a team offer an early second round pick for Duncan.

Would be interesting to gauge their interest a high pick 4, but has gone backwards at an alarming rate and has been in the system 6 years and maybe you're right might take a late first round but no way would be on more than 500k as a player, as Boak and co would command bigger salaries

Forget Hartlett , try for too many targets and you will end up getting none. We must be selective. We must focus ...its not a smorgasbord.

Most of these targets are pencilled in early , maybe even up to 18 months before they are out of contract. he is 2008 draft so depending on contract length ..he may be RFA next year. So to a degree if Port smell a FA possibility coming up I guess they look at a trade but it would be far to expensive for us Id say.

Of the vets farewell to Kelly, MacIntosh, Simpson, Rivers ( subject to getting Henderson). If they don't show they are over injuries Vardy, Menzel, Cowan, McCarthy.
Very hard to choose. I can still only nominate McIntosh with any certainty to go.

For the injured guys, McCarthy is contracted for next season, so he'll be around next year at least. And as much as his overall injury history is bad, Vardy has still only actually injured his knee once. I'd say he'll still be around next year as well.

MenzVardCow need to get out on the ground... I just cant see how we can go again with players that have been here this long and continued to be so barren.

Its all there for the three of them ... even if its only VFL games they need to play and not get injured.
The other thing that may come into account is need for type and attitude of the ground
2 out 3 rucks probably need to go. Maybe Cowan can be delisted and Rookied.. Have to be doubtful that anyone would pick him up.

On the Vets ...is having them on the list such a crime? There are two things min. we need to take into account. Form and cost.

We get a discount of 100G per Rookie... so as long as they take on board what role they would be asked to play and are willing to be that . Would they play for 300? Gees I would be who knows. Enright and Rivers have fantastic form atm. Kelly and Bartel are still good role players at the least. For the right price , could we do better? Some one will have to make way ..I guess .. just don't know who.

Geelong reserves,Falcons,
If there are no signing announcements after the bye I think we should start to worry a little .

The longer it goes more chance players can be enticed away.

If we get Danger there will be less money for the others so I would like to think we can close some of these out now as there will be less $$$ to share.

Happy to wait on veterans but Youngsters Kolo & Thurlow should be locked away .

There is no reason why Tom hasn't signed ?

As for Mots I want him to stay just not sure if he will jump

Which raises another question - why would we?

Mummy is quite mobile. Big slow ruckman (unless you're an exception like Sandilands) are not the way to go. The Blues made that error of judgement with Warnock.
And gone for the rest of the season if the report on SEN radio when I was leaving work was accurate.

There seem to be some sort emotional attachment to him.. he has but played how many minutes of football but in those minutes did he show enough?

Its a fair question you ask Partridge , I guess im assuming that the club will keep doing what they have to some degree... patronage dues to the intangible he brings. Club atmosphere , great attitude... maybe even talent.
