I'm surprised the scoreline wasn't closer considering Milos has such a strong serve and hard to break.

Novak is the best returner in mens tennis. No surprise Milos was flogged, unlike others Novak doesn't worry whether Milos bangs an ace or two, just gets ready for the next one. Milos winning 10% on his 2nd serve just lol

Good grief :drunk: The hormones stuff is totally irrelevant (word of advice Novak, don't go there!) Then he trots out the old 'I like women, I'm married to one afterall'...oh dear :$ However, his other point about men's tennis drawing bigger crowds I actually agree with. I think men's tennis is better to watch so I'm not uncomfortable with them getting higher prize money*

*Yes I know you can get some very good women's matches but I am talking in overall terms.

Lol hormones.. He wasn't thinking there

I don't know much about WTA management but seems like there's an issue there. He is right about the crowd attendance, not sure if WTA tournaments attract big crowds!? Not sure of the stats there.
From what I've seen (which is more than most) they draw stuff all compared to the men. The CEO was spot on, imagine if the grand slams were held separately, how mow much money do you think the women would bring in compared to the men? I know female tennis players who don't watch womens tennis because they don't rate it.

The simple truth is that The ATP Tour subsidises the WTA in events in which they appear together.

Mens tennis is a bigger more financially powerful sport then womens and any equality in earnings can only come from cross subsidisation.

This probably annoys Novak and other men but it is not going to change ( the subsidy is essentially a PC tax they have to pay ) so they might as well just forget it and get on with it.

Think about it if ladies golf grand slams were held in conjunction with mens then Korean girls we have never heard of would be earning millions from Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy etc. The LPGA missed a trick there.

Women's tennis will struggle to maintain ratings and interest once Serena or even Maria retires. The rest are good players but none have that superstar factor that attracts much attention unless you are a tennis fan and follow the game throughout the year.

Men's tennis already has a few young players coming up that keeps us interested in the game. Nick K is annoying and out spoken but he continues to attract attention and people talk about the game.

It won't matter. Womens tennis is much smaller than mens as a money magnet anyway. Go compare social media numbers on the top players.....no comparison. All of the events in which they play for big money are events in which they piggyback the men so they don't need to be a big sport to earn big sport money....they have a big sport ( mens tennis ) to subsidise them.

Come on, that is a bit rich. once Serena retires, another young tennis player will take her place. you probably would have said the same thing when Graf retired. As soon as Graf retired, the Williams came into their own. it is the way of life.

it is the same in the mens. Once the big four retire, there will be youngsters to take their place and steal that limelight. Nick creates his own limelight, cause he is a immature brat at times. Despite the ATP tour being bigger, no one outside tennis would know much outside the big 4.

Bencic and Kasatkina are both showcasing that the young talent is slowly coming through. the generation after the Belgium's and Williams was a bit light, but so has the mens after the big 4 so far.

No surprise there lol

No surprise.

Any blasphemy against the great god equality demands instant ritual career suicide accompanied by the wearing of sackcloth and ashes as the guilty party publicly admits that his frank statements of evident fact were no such thing but were "inappropriate" instead.
