Should be looking to free up Docherty as an outright midfielder. Robbing Peter to pay Paul to a degree, but back six looking a lot more assured, if he can become a fourth mid, all of a sudden we have a decent top-end class spread through there.

I agree, I think in a couple of years as our young midfielders develop, he could play a Brodie Smith type roll through the guts

If we knew for sure that Dustin Martin had cleaned up his act/laid off the grog and stopped hanging around bikie gangs etc, would we be adverse to try sign him as a FA at the end of 2017, or is the Chopsticks incident still too much of a problem/issue ?

Just curious, i can understand both viewpoints, i'd love to have him at Carlton myself, but at the same token, i respect the feelings of other supporters, especially women, who would find it impossible to embrace Dusty after what he did.

So, no to Fyfe but yes to Dustin Martin?

Don't want that flog anywhere near our players, except when we are playing against him. Good footballer but not a good fit for us.

I'm not a woman, and I would find it impossible to embrace "Dusty" after what he did... He is not the caliber of person you want at your club. No thanks...

And strictly out of curiosity, DVB. I'm not having a go. Do you really believe Pendlebury and Fyfe are "overrated" and Dustin Martin is a good footballer?

Not that you asked, but my view is, The other two are Rolls Royces compared to that hack Martin...

Martin is an elite footballer. Perhaps underperforms every now and again and his kicking can be iffy sometimes, but you'd be stoked to have someone with his ability on your team, no doubt.

He's not elite Shan. He's a very average footballer with one trick, who drinks his own bath water...

Sorry coach, think you're a bit blinded here.

I really dislike Martin, but he is a seriously talented footballer with more than one trick.

He's prolific in the middle and very dangerous up forward. He can take over games in patches and be a real matchwinner.

Arguably a poor quality person, but hard to argue he's not a very good footballer.

Definite NO from me!

MrsCoach16 is this usually how negotiations go at the dinner table?
thylacine, Coach is a stubborn abrasive grumpy old man. But when it comes to Richmond he takes it to a whole other level.
I once said "that Rance is a good looking boy", he didn't speak to me for a week.
Mind you, had I said "I'm having Gibbs' baby" he would've thrown me a party.

The dinner table negotiations are swift. He knows not to mess with me. Although I do occasionally need to remind him I'm not one of his players.

Yes, but in her favour. Those without power in real life seek it elsewhere ... or at least that is what the 1000 PMs after a mod action tell me.
