Whats going on with Sam Reid from Sydney?. Really good KPP who can play both ends. Takes a good grab wont gey much of a look in with Tippett and Franklin.

a much stronger midfield will itself bolster our defence, and attack for that matter. I can't see how we could get 2 top 10 picks this year though.

Can happen quite easy.

2nd round + third round + our other third round = top 10 pick

In that case we would then have two first rounds and a fourth which could be a risk.

Check out this link, it has the points value for each pick so you can see what picks add up to a top 10

That ship may have..............

We wanted him desperately some years back but Sydney tied him up for 5 years.
Can't see us reaching for an injury prone tall right now.

Regarding the List Management, as of Round 9, I would make the following changes:

Delist: Forster, Dick, Tutt, Wood, Gowers, Smith, DvR
Delist however it will be made if necessary: Gorringe, Whiley
Retire: Walker, Jamison
Up to them to call it a day: Armfield
Trade: I just don't see that we have anyone who has any currency that is worth to other more than they are worth to us. Maybe if GC come back for Everitt.

So that could be up to 11 players on the senior list and 2 on the rookie list, so that's another 13 list changes.

How do we replace 13 players?
A lot of people including myself have spoken of packaging a few picks to climb up the draft order. If this happens we have less picks to replace those 13. The list you wrote is fine other than Smith and DVR who i would give 1 more year, but whoever we remove we must replace. If we want more high picks then we wont be able to cut the list so deep.
A package deal for a few GWS boys may happen again and we should have 3-4 selections in the draft but that 5-6 players, where are the other 6-7 coming from?

I dont understand how people can say JGM makes more sense? He lasted to the rookie draft and Collins went 19 which was considered a slight slide. To also say your'e glad we didn't take him is a little strange as the person we took instead is struggling at the moment.

Because JGM is a 198cm mobile, runs like the wind fullback who by my account had a decent carnival and has great upside. Collins was a 193cm 100kg man child who is as fast as a gumboot and man handled 73 kilo spring beans was also made to look a lot better by an extremely well organised weitering who has come in and made an afl backline look better straight away. Collins has no weapons and a very low ceiling, JGM will be a jet fullback he is just very raw. As for Cuningham he is having hip problems and not having a great run at things atm, he will make the grade dw.

Whilst i hope your optimistic view is what happens in the long run with both of them, it still doesn't change the fact that some seem to be thinking that we picked a better player in the rookie draft than the guy taken at pick 19 in the ND who has already debuted. If JGM is so good then why did every club pass on him several times?
You mention Collins has a low ceiling and no weapons yet the Dogs who have drafted fantastically the last 4 years had him in the top 20. A lot of other clubs had him ranked high as well, but glad you had it figured out.

Is he injured Harks?. Dont think he's played a senior game this year. Or can he just not get a game

I don't know much about JGM compared to Collins as a player but based on our list, I think we need that defender that's close to 200cm more then another 193cm defender as Both weitering and Plowman are about 193cm.

The biggest question mark over Collins is the fact that he was playing with Weitering and it may be a case of Weitering making him look better than he is. Also the fact that he has had a huge advantage over other kids due to his size.

Adams went at 35 and although is mature, is a better player than Collins... Maybe the dogs got bluffed and went early on Collins? A lot of defenders come out of the late rnds to rookie draft we did grab him with our first pick so it's quite possible we rated him higher hence using pick 1 in the rookie draft on him, as for cuningham he had runs on the board and was a warranted pick 19 there was no complaining when we picked him up he was also the only mid we picked in the ND draft... 2010 we went all tall that worked out well.

How do you know where clubs rated Collins? Clubs before the dogs could have taken him?

That's very unfair on Collins. He was playing on the best forward allowing Weitering to play on lesser players

You can have all the ability in the world but if you only stand at 185cm tall, you ain't going to be playing key position.

If you are 185 cm tall, but are built like Glenn Archer, you can damn near out muscle anyone. If someone is good for their size, plays taller, or is a genius at contested marking, then they can play tall.

I said to you earlier that, when Betts played with us he played as a small full forward, and to a certain extent he still does for Adelaide, because he does everything a tall does. If a person plays the role of a tall, and does the job well, why insist on height and skill when skill alone can be enough?

When I watch him play on the weekend.
I was thinking I'm glad this isn't the player SOS viewed as our potential full back for the next ten years.
He just looked slow as. To move like that and only be 193cm, I'm struggling to think of a player he would be a good match up for Jack Darling may be ?
JGM is 197cm has good size has good athleticism and agility. He just seems a more rounded player IMO.

Cuningham has been injured for quite a few weeks now, but he looked very promising in the preseason.
He also isn't a man child so may need a year or so in a AFL system before he can really starts to make an impact.
SOS has already shown he knows how to spot talent.

Adams has been an absolute steal, he looks a lot better than Collins. Sorry i shouldn't of said clubs rated Collins highly as i don't know if they did, but according to the phantom drafts and predictions he was expected to go earlier. The dogs said after recruiting him that they were surprised he was still there.

We probably aren't that keen on him?

He's no doubt one of many players we're talking to. And rightly so.
Fair point, there's no doubt some of the guys SOS is "chasing" would be just to ensure the club he goes to pays top dollar, putting more pressure on their salary cap. I suspect this may have been the case with Carlisle last year, we were keen on him but never budged on the figure we would pay him, knowing someone would come in with a bigger offer, in that case the Saints. Maybe even the same with Prestia?

Not necessarily. JGM has plenty to work with and we did take him with our first (#1) in the RD
What have we got to lose by keeping JGM on the rookie list for another couple of years? Nothing.
We have to give some guys the chance to develop as we have with Gowers. (Two years on the rookie list)
It's only the last couple of weeks that Gowers has really shown something.......We have to back ourselves and our selections.
I was more thinking development wise. Sure we might keep JGM and if his form demands an opportunity, he should be rewarded. But getting another gun KPD in the door will make his opportunities a little harder, no doubt.

It may make opportunities harder and that's not a bad thing....or we can ditch someone we thought highly of and then rookie another tall back.

I think Bolton & Silvagni want to make this their team and there will be another year of heavy culling until the blend is right.
I just don't think that JGM will be in line on that cull. It just wouldn't make sense. A good kid with plenty of upside and only paying a rookie spot for?
He'll be there next year..........Gallucci? Not so lucky.

He'd definitely worth a Crack. But I'd rather throw a second rounder at Collingwood for jack frost and complete that backline
He's barely worthy of a 4th round pick. Why pay overs for a complete spud.
